After an NFL season of flag-dissing protests and kneeling during the national anthem that left fans furious, and slammed TV ratings, one League team announced a tough new policy to shut it down.
And some players are angry, claiming the announcement "blind-sided" them.
On Thursday afternoon, it was reported that the NFL’s Miami Dolphins will suspend and/or fine players who protest during the national anthem.

The truth is that 70% of the players in the NFL are black (the number is 90% on defense) - and almost all of the owners are white. The owners are cowards, and don’t want to be called “racists.” News reports said there was a players/owners meeting last October. The players went nuts, and were screaming the F word about President Trump. I just don’t care about sports anymore. For many fans, it’s just an excuse to get drunk. The politics have ruined an avenue of entertainment and escapism. Let it all burn.
If the NFL and owners were smart, they make it very simple. You kneel during the anthem, you are immediately suspended for the game and your paycheck for that week is forfeit. Do it a second time and you’re suspended for the season with no pay. Do it s third time and you’re out of the league permanently.
You have your right to free speech, but it has consequences when you do it on the job in a way that damages your employer’s business.

In response to their actions, he ordered Smith and Carlos suspended from the US team and banned from the Olympic Village. When the US Olympic Committee refused, Brundage threatened to ban the entire US track team. This threat led to the expulsion of the two athletes from the Games.

They had a small wound that they let turn gangrenous. Early on they could have suspended one guy and it would have stopped. A couple of guys would have grumbled but it would have stopped. But they let it play out for two years. Now these players have all embraced this as an enshrined constitutional right and any efforts to stop them are racist. There is no going back from this. They tried bribing them with hundreds of millions for social justice causes, they took that and said "cool, still protesting." Now they added a rule and they said "Racist. Still protesting". It's not going away.
Roger Goodell destroyed the NFL. And he got a fat contract extension for doing it.
The real anthem kneelers are Goodell and Lockhart. The NFL is now a leftist organization.
Want to end it? Easy solution. No tax breaks for entertainment and sports teams that lose money.

The only thing I can add to this explanation is that the left is feeling (wrongly) that there is more of them than Normal People, and this safety-in-numbers approach begets unmasking. Indeed, look at the growth in Republican-won counties in 2016 vs 2012 and the resulting concentration of Hillary-loving statists in The Clinto Archipelago:
In short, the lunatics are on the run and coalescing in urban enclaves. Thus they have less and less contact with Normal people which blinds them to their shrinking numbers. However, this also increases the intensity of their echo chambers, spurring them on to a militant evangelization of their Secular Theocracy.
My guess is the Dolphins see this trend and decided to take action.

I’d like to think they would do this, but I know that as soon as Jemele Hill & Co. take to the ESPN airwaves and start shouting “RACIST!” they will back-down.
