Special counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly given a key Democratic operative immunity to testify against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.
According to Tucker Carlson, speaking Thursday evening on his Fox News program, Mr. Mueller has offered immunity to Tony Podesta, founder of the Podesta Group and brother of former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.
Mr. Carlson cited two sources whom he did not name.
Both Mr. Manafort and the Podesta Group worked on a campaign named the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine

This is nothing but a Soviet-style show trial. The verdict had already been determined.
[This is truly outrageous. Republicans get indicted, Democrats get immunity.]
Just the way the Swamp wants it.
No 3rd term for Obama via Hillary? No problem, they’ll just burn down the country and start a war with Russia.
If I were Trump I would tell Mueller that if he gives immunity to democrats to testify against republicans he will pardon the republican.
I don’t think so... and I bet by November, Hillary will be given blanket immunity from all crimes to testify against Manafort.
Use immunity allows the government to defeat a legitimate claim of fifth amendment privilege against giving (self-incriminating) testimony.
Can it be defeated? Technically yes, practically, no.
In this case, the immunity is a blatant favor to Podesta, as the evidence incriminating him (and supposedly Manafort) is likely available in some other form, notes, calendars, billing records, travel records, reports, and so on; as well as other witnesses such as secretaries, co-workers, and the people who were lobbied. This case could proceed with Manafort and Podesta as co-defendants.
There is a legitimate argument that this other evidence is wholly independent of whatever questions the dirty prosecutor plans to ask Podesta. In principle, "use immunity" allows independently derived evidence can be used against the person who possesses use immunity. Assuming for sake of argument the government could defeat the grant of immunity, the grant is still a substantial hurdle against prosecution for the acts covered by the compelled testimony.
There is no easy way to get around this type of rogue prosecutorial action, a case where the prosecutor is taking steps to protect a friend. Court reaction is a crapshoot, the judge will probably side with Mueller then craft an opinion to suit the predetermined outcome.
All these decisions are a matter of "prosecutorial discretion," the tool that enables selective prosecution and favoritism. And too, the government's intention here is basically creating an excuse for not prosecuting Podesta for the same acts it is prosecuting Manafort for. There is no intention to prosecute Podesta, he is a friend. There needs to be a pretext to whitewash the obvious double standard.
The answer to that is yes, but the question doesn't cover a complete answer.
Congress has not gone into a "long enough recess to admit a recess appointment," for probably 5 years running. The House and senate conduct do-nothing pro forma sessions each 3 to 5 days in order to preclude the president from exercising the recess appointment power.
Sessions is "going by the book," and the book can be (and is routinely) used as cover for bad actors. Legal tools are like firearms. They can be misused.
Rosenstein has misused the legal widget of Special Counsel to convert a spy operation into a criminal operation, just to pick one aspect of this long-running farce of government action against the President.
So he gives the guy that ran Hillary’s campaign immunity to testify against Trump’s campaign..
no problem there.
Where the eff is Sleepy Sessions?
ooops, he gives the brother of the guy that ran Hillary’s campaign immunity..
Drudge doesn't like any story that put homosexuals in a bad light.
He is also much less conservative and courageous than he used to be.
This alternative to the Drudgereport site has the story:
Their top headline:
It is that bad, but not that direct. The case is not about a the 2016 presidential campaign at all. It is about Podesta and Manafort acting as agents for foreign powers, but not registering as agents of foreign powers (FARA). Violations of this are garden variety common, and until Mueller was launched into a "get Trump" witch hunt, were never prosecuted criminally, only civilly (fine, register, slap the wrist and move on).
Now that this law has been dusted off to be used against Manafort, people will question why Podesta, who is known to have acted the same way and Manafort, isn't prosecuted as well. Granting immunity is going to be used to protect Podesta. Mueller doesn't care if he looks dirty. That's water under the bridge. Cut from same cloth as Comey, Brennan and Clapper, and all of them are in your face indignant that you would dare to question their impartiality.
I think a completed wall would do without rewarding pedophiles. But, i guess thats too much to ask for... 1986.
If true, President Trump should start issuing pardons saying whats good for the goose is good for the gander, then fire Sessions, Rosenstein, Mueller and his entire staff. Attorney General Christies or Giuliannis first act can be to bring that whole group in on RICO charges, along with the Clintons, DWS and the rest of the bunch.
FOX News’ Tucker Carlson said he has a source who told him that the Podesta brothers and Paul Manafort are the “central figures” Robert Mueller’s investigation, not President Trump. The source, Carlson said, told him about events that implicate Manafort, the Podesta brothers, Hillary Clinton and her State Department, and Russian oligarchs. The source has been interviewed by Mueller’s independent investigators.
“If true,” Carlson said, the story weaved by the source shows the media is focusing on the wrong Russia story.
The source tells Tucker Carlson that Paul Manafort worked extensively with the Podesta Group as far back as 2011 on behalf of Russia. Manafort’s Russian associates wanted to influence Washington and sought the Podesta brothers because of their ties to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
He said then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held a meeting with the Podestas that included a representative of the Clinton Foundation that specifically was about how to assist Uranium One in a deal that reportedly netted the foundation $100 million in donations.
“Sometimes, our source said, ties between The Podesta Group and the Clintons were explicit,” Carlson explained. “Tony Podesta spoke regularly to Hillary Clinton while she ran the State Department. Our source remembers Podesta’s assistant announcing that ‘Secretary Clinton is on the line.’”
“At one point in either 2013 or maybe early 2014 our source says a meeting was held that included both Tony Podesta and a representative of the Clinton Foundation. The explicit subject of that meeting? How to assist Uranium One, that’s the Russian-owned company that controls 20% of American uranium production, and whose board members gave more than $100 million to the Clinton Foundation. As our source put it, Tony Podesta was basically part of the Clinton Foundation,” Carlson shared.
So as usual the media and the mule team have been playing us all it was never about Trump but always Manafort.Ironically, I bet the Podesta bros. and hillary get caught up in the con.
Its almost as if Mueller is forcing President Trump to shut the whole thing down so he can then pursue an obstruction case. He has no collusion.
Holy $%^t Mueller is out of control. The Podestas have committed more fraud against the US then Manafort. This whole thing cries out for a special prosecutor to investigate Mueller, Clinton, Lynch, Brennan , Holder and Obama. Trump should fire Sessions, Rosenstein, Wray and terminate the Mueller probe. The majority of Americans will support him and let the chips fall where they may.
have a good time
I would imagine the scope of immunity that this a-hole can grant is limited....you can’t just give someone blanket immunity for the numerous crimes they have committed.
