President Donald Trumps refusal to rehash allegations of Kremlin-backed interference in the 2016 presidential election during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin Monday incensed Democrat lawmakers and left wing media pundits.
Standing alongside Putin, President Trump steered clear of confrontation with the Russian, while questioning U.S. intelligence and last weeks federal indictments of 12 Russians for hacking into Democratic email accounts to purportedly hurt Hillary Clinton in 2016.I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today, President Trump said following a two hour one-on-one meeting with his Russian counterpart. He just said its not Russia. I will say this: I dont see any reason why it would be.
President Trumps remarks prompted an onslaught of calls for the U.S. to respond to Russias alleged meddling, described as an act of war.
Leading up to the high stakes meeting between President Trump and Putin, CNN New Day host Chris Cuomo repeatedly accused Russia of election hacking to wage war against the U.S. The big, ugly white elephant in the room will be the U.S. election hacking, Cuomo speculated. Weve been calling it meddling, but Im trying to stay away from the word because its just way too mild. This is an act of war.
The CNN host described the Russian hacking allegations as the truth: How does [Donald Trump] raise the act of war of the hacking and different attacks during the U.S. election when Vladimir Putin knows damn well that President Trump doesnt really believe the truth and doesnt put a whole lot of stock in the event itself?
HuffPos Mike Signorile published an opinion-editorial on Monday morning affirming Russia committed an act of war,...

The purpose and charter of the CIA was to deal exclusively with the threats of the Soviet Union and it’s KGB. Once the Soviet Union fell, we should have dissolved the CIA. Instead the CIA just meddles in stuff to give itself something to do.
Mexico had a bigger influence.....what with illegals voting en mass.
No need to go heeled to get the bulge on a tub like you.
Perhaps Trump should make a “reset button” like Hillary had and put a “nuclear button” sign on it. And then do a video with his finger on the button and say to the camera “is this what you Democrats want?”
"The 1980s called, they want their foreign policy back!"
What is it when we do it????????????
Finally they are out with it .... they want nuclear war with Russia .... they Hell with the unwashed masses!
Or Mexican interference??
I don’t understand why it seems to be every leftist’s dream to go to war with Russia. Leftists are so imbecilic that they are dangerous.
the color of their skin
when the Dems have 300 squadrons of democrat and libtard recruits trained and ready for hand-to-hand, maybe we can talk war, but I’ll be damned if they spend any more blood of our republican sons and daughters - we’ve given enough thank you very much.
Never forget, all of this alleged Russian hacking happened on Obama’s watch. And what did the great Obama do about it when they told him it was happening? He ordered his intel agencies to STAND DOWN!
Is it just me or does it seems their standard of proof was far higher for going after Iraq’s Saddaam Hussein as a bad guy than it is for Trump.
Deep State strikes again:
18 Jul: NYT: From the Start: Trump has Muddies a Clear Message: Putin Interfered
By David E. Sanger and Matthew Rosenberg; Adam Goldman contributed reporting
Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.
The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.
Mr. Trump sounded grudgingly convinced, according to several people who attended the intelligence briefing. But ever since, Mr. Trump has tried to cloud the very clear findings that he received on Jan. 6, 2017, which his own intelligence leaders have unanimously endorsed...
His fear, according to one of his closest aides who spoke on the condition of anonymity, is that any admission of even an unsuccessful Russian attempt to influence the 2016 vote raises questions about the legitimacy of his presidency.
The Jan. 6, 2017, meeting, held at Trump Tower, was a prime example. He was briefed that day by John O. Brennan, the C.I.A. director; James R. Clapper Jr., the director of national intelligence; and Adm. Michael S. Rogers, the director of the National Security Agency and the commander of United States Cyber Command.
The F.B.I. director, James B. Comey, was also there; after the formal briefing, he privately told Mr. Trump about the Steele dossier....

Ok, its an act of war. Where is the evidence?
.... So does this mean we are now obligated to go to war with Russia, China, and North Korea who have hacked us?
also from the NYT article:
Mr. Trump and his aides were also given other reasons during the briefing to believe that Russia was behind the D.N.C. hacks...
The pattern of the D.N.C. hacks, and the theft of emails from John D. Podesta, Hillary Clintons campaign chairman, fit the same pattern...
meanwhile, Craig Murray - no fan of Trump or Putin -, states:
17 Jul: Craig Murray: Detente Bad, Cold War Good
There are in fact genuine acts of election rigging to investigate. In particular, the multiple actions of the DNC and Democratic Party establishment to rig the Primary against Bernie Sanders do have some very real documentary evidence to substantiate them, and that evidence is even public. Yet those real acts of election rigging are ignored and instead the huge investigation is focused on catching those who revealed Hillarys election rigging. This gets even more absurd the investigation then quite deliberately does not focus on catching whoever leaked Hillarys election rigging, but instead seeks to prove that the Russians hacked Hillarys election-rigging, which I can assure you they did not. Meanwhile, those of us who might help them with the truth if they were actually interested, are not questioned at all...
