Yup, still triple digits but a slight cool down is in the works.
I needed to venture out for a few things today and then hid inside with the A/C, not going anywhere else until morning.
Those dust storms make my hair stand on end when I see videos or pix of them. Has to be a horrifying sight to see one roaring towards you, then being engulfed.
Hope that cool down is soon for your sake. I know you’re in the stores most of the time when you work but you still have to get to and from them. Parking lots intensify the heat.
Been in some sand storms, I did better then LOL
We had them here a few years ago but they weren’t spectacular like they are up north. Faint green ones, primarily, with an occasional faint red one. I like to froze my hiney off but I stood out back watching them for over an hour.
I just went out back to see why the little yappy dogs next door were barking...since I’m by myself right now...and it was pretty pleasant. I picked up Li’l Bit for a moment and only saw her, Ghost and the little Siamese kitten out there.
I hate when it’s so “soupy”. Makes doing anything at all very uncomfortable! I’ll bet you were really glad to get the car AC going and get back home from the store!
Oh, no! No water? I hope he gets it fixed soon. Not good to be without water for very long! Especially when more showers are necessary when it’s that hot. Hope you get some more rain...and maybe a lightning show along with it!
Ugh! I don’t see how they could be better to deal with. Either one would be choking. GACK!
“What are the little things coming up around it?”
More okra plants.
Lookit who got the 50 tonight. LOL!
WOOHOO any way. :-)
All the good celestial events happen in the dead of night, in winter.
That’s why they have hot tubs and libations.
Cucumber, yellow squash, zucchini, cabbage, radishes, poblano peppers, jalapeno peppers, green peppers, red peppers, yellow peppers, orange peppers, wolfberry bush, banana trees, probably a couple I have forgotten, too! ;-)
You’re gonna have a lotta okra! We tried it once, but the heat got it like it does just about everything else. Although, hubby has some pretty nice looking asparagus plants right now. And a huge squash plant without one single squash on it. LOL!
I used to handle it better.
I had leeks but the heat killed them as soon as they sprouted.
Otherwise, I water every evening at 7 P.M. DST.
Did you ever figure out what had the yappy dogs barking? Maybe the other kittens were within their sight.
Yeah, “soupy” isn’t fun at all. Even in the house I sweat a little when doing housework and that’s with the A/C going. The dewpoints have been in the 70s for what seems like forever and that’s wet air.
He got the water going again a little while ago. He’d never finished getting the other well up and running again since a storm had dropped a big tree limb on the brand new building he’d put up. Today he went ahead and hooked everything up and got it running.
Now we need a new pump for the well that got messed up. It’s nice having two so there’s a back-up if one goes out for whatever reason.
We get one day without rain (tomorrow) then rain chances go up from there. Supposed to be a soggy weekend. We’d like a little dry period, to be honest.
OH! I forgot the butternut squash.
I know! I didn’t pay attention to how close it was getting. Next time you and PRO can chase it! :)
Ooooooh, I don’t know about that. LOL! The Perseids are in the dead of night, yes, but they’re in the summer. Some years, they’re pretty fantastic. I haven’t checked yet to see what’s expected this year.
And there was the solar eclipse last year. I still can’t believe our luck in being under the totality path. Never thought I’d get to see a total eclipse.
But there ARE some cool celestial events in the winter, in the dead of night. Being a “vampire” helps for those but dang, it’s hard standing out there in the frigid air. LOL
