Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Monday criticized President Donald Trump’s remarks on alleged Russia meddling in Helsinki, Finland on Monday and warned that Vladimir Putin may conduct surveillance with a soccer ball gifted to the United States.
Graham took to Twitter to lament President Trump’s supposed “missed opportunity” to hold Russia accountable for meddling in the 2016 presidential election. “Missed opportunity by President Trump to firmly hold Russia accountable for 2016 meddling and deliver a strong warning regarding future elections,” Graham began in a series of tweets following the joint press conference between the two leaders. “This answer by President Trump will be seen by Russia as a sign of weakness and create far more problems than it solves.”
