Thanks, lightman, and a good evening to you as well.
We, too, await the blessing of rain, but none in the last 3 promised days. d:o)
Hope yours comes.

Thank You sooo much Kathy for Honoring Mr. Winters...I’ve watched band of brothers several times and I always get a tear when I think of this wonderful man.
My dad was with Patton in WW2...so I have a strong interest in the subject.

No Co-Signer Required
July 16, 2018
People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said.
Hebrews 6:16
When a person without a long history of paying his or her bills on time wants to obtain a loan to purchase a home or car, lenders are often reluctant to take the financial risk. Without a track record, that persons promise to repay what he borrows is insufficient for the bank. The would-be borrower usually resorts to finding someone who does have a history of making good on their debts, asking them to put their name on the loan too. The co-signers promise assures the lender the loan will be repaid.
When someone makes a promise to uswhether for financial, marital, or other reasonswe expect them to keep it. We want to know that God will keep His promises too. When He promised Abraham that He would bless him and give him many descendants (Hebrews 6:14; see Genesis 22:17), Abraham took God at His word. As the Creator of all that exists, there is no one greater than He; only God could guarantee His own promise.
Abraham had to wait for the birth of his son (Hebrews 6:15) (and never saw how innumerable his offspring would grow to be), but God proved faithful to His promise. When He promises to be with us always (13:5), to hold us securely (John 10:29), and to comfort us (2 Corinthians 1:34), we too can trust Him to be true to His word.
Lord, thank You for being so trustworthy. I need no other promises but Your word. Help me to trust You more and more each day.
In Hebrews 6:19, the metaphor of an anchor is used to describe the believers secure hope. This metaphor was a common one in Greco-Roman literature and was used to describe a persons security and hope based on their good character.
But the author of Hebrews does not describe the believers anchortheir hope (6:1112)as based on their own character. Instead, the author says our hope is found behind the curtain (v. 19)alluding to the holy of holies in the temple. In the past, this was the primary place where Gods people could fully experience Gods presence. Only the high priest could enter, and only once a year.
But now Jesus, the One both fully God and fully human, is our priest, the One who gives access to God. Because He has conquered sin and death, our rock-solid hope is anchored in Him. Through Christ we experience the very presence and power of God (v. 20).

You know how when you’re driving and you get behind a car with the TV monitor. Your kids want you to pull up so they can try to figure out what cartoon the kids in the car are watching?
On long distance trips, my two sons would always plug in Band of Brothers.

Howdy, Kathy.
Hope you’ve had a restful day so you’ll be ready for tomorrow’s “fun”. Is the new gal any more helpful now, able to take more of the load off the rest of you?

I'm watching a movie on FX, 'The Revenant', I haven't seen it before and it's real good!
Not a fan of DiCapprio, but he is a great actor.

They put a couple of new things on display at the museum last weekend but I didn't have the camera with me. I took it yesterday though!
They were things they brought back from Tupelo a couple of weeks ago. Hubby had told me about them but I didn't know how soon they'd set them out.
This is a portable x-ray machine. I wish I had thought to ask which era it's from. Someone here might know. It's obviously not a new machine so I'm guessing Korean War or earlier.
This radio is in mint condition as it apparently was never used. The box it's sitting on has drawers with extra pieces in them. The top drawer that's visible has several tubes in it.

Glad y’all had a good time last night but then you always do, don’cha? :-)
I laid low today as the ol’ back was a little cranky. It doesn’t like the bending over I do when cleaning uniforms or hauling those heavy clothes upstairs when I’m done for the day.
We got a break from the heat today because it was cloudy and wet but they say the heat will return tomorrow. Pooey!
