President Trump is not expected to attend the All-Star Game in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, though past presidents have attended the game when it was held in the city.
The Associated Press reported that Trump will likely skip the game after returning home on Tuesday from a trip to Europe ending with his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Tuesdays game marks the fifth time it will have been held in Washington since 1937. The AP noted that several former presidents have attended the game when the nations capital hosted the event.
Former President Eisenhower skipped out on throwing the first pitch in 1956 as he was recovering from surgery, and Vice President Spiro Agnew filled in for former President Nixon in 1969, as Nixon had a trip planned, according to the AP.
The outlet also reported that former Presidents George W. Bush and Obama have also thrown out the ceremonial first pitch at Washington Nationals games.
Obama was the last president to throw the first pitch at an All-Star game, doing so in St. Louis in 2009.

Who gives a RAT’s A$$? The President has better things to be doing with his time.
Baseball is king in America.
Trump should go to mingle with the superstars and promote the game.
After all, baseball is America’s pasttime.
I definitely plan to skip that too.
“After all, baseball is Americas pastime.”
Well it may be for some, but not for me. The last time I went to a SF Giants game ( it was in Candlestick with a Japanese exchange student), we sat there in the cold and fog for 8 and a half f*cking innings and nobody hit anything! What a waste of one’s time!
Trump knows optics. He knows that based on the location of the game (the most liberal area of the country), he’ll be met with boos. The media will then proceed to play that on a loop over and over again.
Baseball is another children’s game also played by adults.
It has neither more nor less importance than a game of monopoly, or chess, or pool. Or than reading a book. Or watching a movie.
It’s mere entertainment.
A leisure activity.
And no leisure activity is of great import in the great scheme of things.
The President has important things to do, and he is getting more of them done than any president in my lifetime.
No! Watch it.
There’s a lot of good MLB All Stars this year....

Havn't thought of that in awhile.
The President was an excellent prep baseball player.
He’s been a Yankees fan a long time and considered buying in. He also made offers on the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians.
Just off a transAtlantic flight after a busy schedule, and 70 years old. Most would cut him some slack.
I would offer a different take. Personally, I would not attend a public event while jet lagged from a long overseas business trip packed with intense meetings. I’d take a pass and have a quiet night at home with an early bedtime.
Cue the halfrican traitor throwing like a sissy boy pic .. LMAO !
He should go next year.
Trump does not need to mingle with overpaid, PED-pumped, crime-prone crybabies, most of whom are rats who hate him.
Yep¸ after things have settled down. Ginsberg will have failed to wake up from one of her naps, and Sotomayor will have stroked out, and the SCOTUS will be 7 to 2, Americans to Communists.
He should send Judge Kavanaugh in his stead and let him throw out the first pitch. That would be a hoot.
Next year it is at Progressive Field in Cleveland, not sure that is very likely either.
As for the POTUS going to a ball game after a busy journey in Europe, He has more important jobs to attend too. He is a working POTUS, not the lazy type of the past eight years who just wanted to travel, party, drink and smoke...and lets not forget, VACATIONS..
Ok
Ha, that’s brilliant.
