Republicans are planning to hold a vote on a bill that would abolish the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency in an apparent political attempt to force Democrats to take a side on a hot-button issue that is increasingly popular among the liberal base.
The Hill reported on Thursday that House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy would bring the bill, introduced by Democratic Rep. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin, to the floor for a vote.

Is this the Democrats ultimate WTF moment??? The Democrats can’t piss off their newest and most important voting bloc in Hispanics, but to do that they show the rest of America they care nothing about this country and its sovereignty and safety! It’s Paul Ryan “leading” the charge so I would hold off popping the champagne corks! He’ll find a way to throw a lifeline to the Dems again!
So the lesson here is that if you bring a bill to congress, there’s a chance that it might get voted on? Take note democrats, this will be on the test.

Not much of a force. I predict it won't get 30 Democrat votes.

This article is confusing because it also says Ryan won’t let this “come to the floor.”
Actually, I am fine with abolishing ICE as long as say the IRS is beefed up and group of them are devoted to finding ALL ILLEGAL ALIENS WHO are working in the USA and stopping them from getting any money from work, from welfare programs or any other means.
What is drawing the vast majority of illegals is money from jobs or our safety net programs. End that pipeline of money and the illegal alien problem will be solved.
If Dem’s want to abolish ICE or open boarders give them what they want, but put in draconian laws that will prevent illegals from any means of financial support.
WOW! What a brilliant maneuver! House GOP grows some huevos ... who wouda thunk ... thinking internal polling is looking good to them and they figure it’s time to go on the offensive ... which being Republicans I know is hard to believe ... probably a bit of the Trump Effect rubbing off ...
at any rate, this is a total lose-lose issue for the Dems no matter how they vote, and this will definitely drive a wedge (stake?) through the Dem party ...

ICE is not just about Border patrol or Illegals, they have responsibility for over 400 different items, well beyond what you posit.

Yes, one of those is child trafficking. They want it shut down before they get the goods on Hellary and Pizzagate.
While they are at it, go ahead and vote on abolishing the EPA, FBI, IRS, DEA, etc,etc,etc.
