Good start. Now he needs to end the practice of allowing the local union leadership to occupying a full time government position while being allowed to spend 100% of their time on union business. Those individuals should be on the union payroll.

When I worked in Japan, our union was actually provided rent free space by the company. But the union saw themselves as being on the same team.
FWIW, I work in a unionized plant now. The Teamsters, who represent our production workers, take a similar attitude. We provide them with a similar courtesy. You can still see MAGA hats, t-shirts and Trump bumper stickers in our plant.

Next should be government “employees” who are paid salaries by the government in “governmetn jobs” that are really just to be on-site full time union reps. They have that in some manufacturing industries as well, like in the auto unions.
