The federal government has reopened its investigation into the slaying of Emmett Till, the black teenager whose brutal 1955 killing in Mississippi shocked the world.
A Justice Department report to Congress says the agency is reinvestigating Till's slaying after receiving what it calls "new information."
Till, a 14-year-old boy from Chicago, was kidnapped from his uncle's home in the town of Money and killed after he wolf-whistled at Carolyn Donham, a shopkeeper.
Three days later, his mutilated body was found in the muddy Tallahatchie River, weighted down with a cotton gin fan. His left eye was missing, and his right eye was dangling on his cheek. The body was identified only by a ring he was wearing.
Two men -- Donham's then-husband Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam -- were charged with murder but acquitted in the slaying of Till. The men later confessed to the crime in a magazine interview, but weren't retried and are now dead.

I think 1/2 the murders of African Americans today go unsolved. But we need to go back to 1955?
It’s been years since I read the Jet magazine confessions by the men who murdered the boy so I might get some of details wrong but here goes.
Till came to visit his Mississippi cousins from Chicago. They were fooling around outside the country store. His cousins warned him not to act “forward” to white women like he bragged doing back in Chicago. He didn’t listen to his cousins. Some disputed what happened next whether it was just a wolf whistle or a suggestion of having sex.
Whatever happened it got reported back to her family and the men decided to put the (White)fear of God into him. They went to the boy’s grandfather’s house where he was staying and demanded the boy come out. They roughed him out a little but being a tough Chicago nut to crack the boy wisecracked despite the grandfather’s warning to behave. They men escalated their actions and packed the boy into their car and headed to a repair shop where the boy was tortured, castrated and finally tied to a industrial fan and dumped into the nearest river.
That’s what I remember.
Interesting aside. If a white boy had done the same thing he might have wound up in the river too. There are parts of nearby county in my home state of Tennessee we were warned as young men not to be caught there after sundown. Unlike Emimitt Till, we heeded our elders and got back across the county line long before sundown

Dozens and dozens of white Emmit Tills have been murdered by racist blacks since then for reasons far less than got Till murdered.
White victims have been murdered for “disrespecting” blacks by yelling at them to slow down when they drove recklessly through their neighborhood, having their dog that they were walking sniff a black thug, yelling “Will you please hurry up at a car full of blacks blocking the exit of a parking garage, disrespecting them by not showing sufficient fear when they were being robbed, etc etc
None of these brutal murders was a national news story like the Till murder but was immediately dropped down the Memory Hole

Ok.... what is this supposed to prove? Some folksy yarn based on a rosy recollection of country life.....something something.....this kid got what he deserved?
I dont recall any stories of what happened here happening to just any young man.

Back then, it was considered a travesty that a man who cat-called a woman would end up murdered, a racist attack.
Nowadays, I think we’re supposed to string up EVERY man who whistles at a woman, as cat-calling is now known to be sexual assault.
Not that I expect the SJWs to be consistent or anything.

Indeed my cynical side says this is mostly to stir the pot and foment rancor amongst blacks and Dems.
OTOH, I have to say the little I know of this story seems to be a true story of pure real racism, in its vilest form. Including the travesty of justice (I think, again hardly knowing anything).
Yeah, they were going to investigate all the deep state, clinton and obama scandals but this case will take up all the DOJ time and effort. Proving once again what an incompetent sessions is and what a dirtbag rosenstein is. Trump needs to get rid of both after the mid terms.
Well, until you explain it, it’s difficult to trash others for what they might have done.
