A woman was found dead inside the trash compactor of a swanky Union Square apartment building on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Cops and paramedics responded to Zeckendorf Towers at 1 Irving Place at 4:55 p.m. and “discovered a 48-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive inside a trash compactor,” according to an NYPD statement.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.

I wish all these stories included some insight into the victims’ voting proclivities so we knew whether to be happy or sad...
At least this story doesn’t say “stuffed” into the compactor like the other story does. She wasn’t “stuffed”, she went down the chute.
Neither story says whether or not she was “compacted”.
I’ll wait for more details.

To me ... this indicates possibility she was attacked by the elevator and later disposed of via the trash chute.
Here in Marin, no one would care much, unless the perp stuffed the stiff into the wrong recycling bin.
Huh? She fell down the shoot, AND entered the trash compactor room alone? Wouldn’t the shoot deposit her in that room?

Yes...(most) hi-rise apartment buildings have trash deposit rooms on each floor. All chutes feed into same bin.
If there’s an issue in the collection bin (ground floor), it affects all floors. Yuck.
