The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) held a joint call Tuesday to announce their efforts to comply with a June 26 federal court ruling mandating children under five years old in HHS custody be “reunited” with parents if they were separated at the border. U.S. District Judge Dana Sabraw, in response to an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) lawsuit, set a July 10 deadline to reunite the families and refused to provide additional time for the government to use DNA testing to determine if the people in question are even the 102 identified children’s parents.
Nevertheless, the government, in its Tuesday “Joint Status Report” notes that in at least 14 of the 102 children’s cases, they will not be “reuniting” them with parents because the adults in question are either not actually their parents, have been convicted of serious crimes, including rape and murder, or have been credibly accused of child abuse. The government will not place children with adults without completing these checks.
“Let me be clear: HHS could have transferred every child out of our care to a parent who is currently in DHS custody today if we did not take into account child safety or whether the adult is actually the parent,” HHS Chief of Staff Chris Meekins, told reporters.

Make the “for the children” people admit “Any adult the child came with is good enough” and ask if they would treat American kids in schools the same way. There is a ghastly tv commercial on now with the sound of a child crying, and they ask if it matters if this child is American or refugee. Holy F, it matters. No one can care for every child on the planet. But make the lefties say whether they wish children to be returned to child traffickers?
More proof the lefties don’t care about the kids, just using them for political reasons until they are no longer useful. Anyone remember the Parkland “survivors?”
No one with a conscience and sketchy at best information would reunite and sign off without providing a safe environment. I can't imagine the fireworks if one child gets hurt after this because there was a mistake somewhere. The staff has to be stressed to near breaking points on this stupidity.
I’m way beyond fed up with this human garbage pushing it’s way into my country and demand things they’re not entitled to. I live in New Jersey and NJ funds education through property tax. Every time these freeloading parasites put their kids in a public school here my property taxes go up. My wife and I are over sixty and we’re still working our tails off to hold on to what we have and almost every day on the media outlets I’m looking at these border jumping arrogant beggars demanding to be let in here and put right on the welfare teat. God how I hate them.
