Trump stopped to talk with press on the White House south lawn Tuesday before boarding Marine One and heading to the NATO summit in Brussels, Belgium. The press asked Trump for reaction to the latest missed deadline on reuniting adults and children separated after illegally crossing the U.S. southern border.
“Well, I have a solution,” replied the president. “Tell people not to come to our country illegally. That’s the solution. Don’t come to our country illegally. Come like other people do. Come legally.”

See, this is what I love about having a President like Trump.
If NORMAL, everyday people were asked a question about the latest missed deadline on reuniting adults and children separated after illegally crossing the U.S. southern border, our response would be nearly word for word, what President Trump said!
Here is the kicker: Trump likely isn't saying it as a 'populist lever'...he his most likely saying it because a normal, commonsense person would have EXACTLY that response.
Am I right?
Here are two examples to compare:
POLITICIAN:
"Well, it is complicated. We know that people cross the border for various reasons, and while we don't necessarily support the crossing, we recognize that there is an obligation to provide the basic human needs, and protect the dignity of the people crossing..."
PRESIDENT "NOT A POLITICIAN" TRUMP:
“Tell people not to come to our country illegally. That’s the solution. Don’t come to our country illegally. Come like other people do. Come legally.”
Precedence to disregard “legal” deadlines has been set by CONGRESS.
Simple and brilliant. Which is why the Democrats hate it.
The President speaks the truth!
