Russia Today (RT) reports that a delegation of 30 South African farming families has arrived in Russias farm belt Stavropol Region with the group apparently saying it is facing violent attacks and death threats at home.
RT reports that according to the delegation, up to 15,000 farmers are planning to move to Russia. The group believes that government plans to expropriate their land will lead to increasing violence.
The report says that the farmers are prepared to contribute to Russias growing agricultural sector and each family is ready to bring up to $100,000 for leasing the land.
The report quotes It's a matter of life and death there are attacks on us. It's got to the point where the politicians are stirring up a wave of violence, Adi Slebus told the media. "The climate here [in the Stavropol region] is temperate, and this land is created by God for farming. All this is very attractive.

Because someday we might have to flee to Russia ourselves …
Farmers? Or seasonal farm workers? Because if it's the later then we can get those from a lot closer.
Oh, the Koalha Bear. I didn’t know they had fangs!
We have hard working farmers. What makes you think we’re experiencing a shortage?
______
Not being in the know, my superficial impression is that our farmers face heavy competition from Mexican and South American farmers who can grow food much cheaper, which seems to be what Americans want — cheap, not better. It is probably not an attractive business prospect to start a farm here.

Lot of empty farms in Florida are there?
I would have them all come to the US.
Once more the Russians are the sane people while we continue down the path of insanity.
Yes
The Volga Germans were invited by Catherine the Great to help introduce more modern agricultural methods to the Russians.
That’s my people. Some relatives visited the area of villages that my ancestors left, back in the 1980s. When the tidy and efficient Germans left, the villages went to pot. Just goes to show that people don’t appreciate what they are given.
Because most underlying motives for US immigration policy of the past 30 or more years have been to bring in future Dim voters, to bring in cheap labor, and to reduce the white percentag eof the US population. SA farmers would not advance any of those goals.
Trump might change that and even consider SA farmers for refugee status, but he'd meet a lot of resistance.

Can you say, “Volga Germans”?
Same song, different verse, IMO.
Thank God. I hope every single white over there can get out before they are slaughtered. ,
I have been suggesting this for a while. The decadent West won’t let them in. Russia may not be the best choice but it is likely the only choice.

“Farmers? Or seasonal farm workers? Because if it’s the later then we can get those from a lot closer.”
One historical, and current, problem with American agriculture is that it is too productive. That productivity has resulted is bumper crops, depressed farm product prices, and forcing smaller family farms out of business.
Bringing in productive South African farmers would further increase productivity and likely complicate US farm economics.
That said, the legal immigration of educated South Africans to the United States would be good for our country. They could be machinists; or heart surgeons (they have the history); and world history teachers in US public schools.
Once they get US citizenship, they would be excellent candidates for local, state, and federal office. We need educated people to run for public office. There seems to be a shortage.
And since the constitution does not require a legal degree to serve on the US Supreme Court, at least one could be appointed to the bench there. It would likely have a positive impact on the court.
Any South African that wants to become a US citizen should be required to affirm that they will judge fellow citizens by the content of their character and not the color of their skin - a good concept which is now out of vogue with US citizens of the liberal persuasion.
Sadly, was it Lenin or Stalin, who killed millions and stopped farmers, by taking tractors/equipment hostage and starving them to death! I would avoid Russia at all costs, if I were them.
Uggh, the Soviet Union died in 1992. Russia is not the Soviet Union.
Putin may be somewhat autocratic, but there’s simply no comparison with the Soviet Union.
