Consider that it might be taken out of context. It’s possible Elon Musk was asked what he accomplished while he was there. I didn’t hear him taking credit for the rescue in that statement.
Agreed about what Elon Musk did. Not only self-promoting and opportunistic, but arrogant...like the Thais couldn’t handle it without big chief American billionaire’s assistance.
I wonder about the Hollywood version.
We know they are Thai. Are there enough boys in Hollywood of Thai ancestry, to play the parts?
And in today’s PC world, would the movie be made as an English speaking movie? But if they did have Thai ancestry boys play the parts, wouldn’t it violate political correctness if they speak English in the movie?
The boys used to explore the cave after their games. When they didnt return, the coach went looking for them. He risked his life for the kids.
thanks i didnt know that...
Kudos all around.
Watched Fox this morning they had Marcus Luttrell on and he explained that after soccer games the team would go the Cave to touch the back wall and come out sort of a ritual they had.
Was wondering when the knee-jerking would start
Yeah. I'm struggling to believe he was behaving altruistically -- but I'm failing.
BAWHAHHAA...
i now have yet another coffee filled keyboard...
A couple of things to know to counter wrong views of what happened:
1. The Thai soccer coach did NOT lead the boys into the cave, he found their bicycles and went into the cave seeking them out. His presence was heroic as he helped calm them, rationed food, and led them in prayer.
2. The boys and the coach were driven further into the cave by waters rushing in from Monsoon rains. The boys did not know how to swim. Their only reaction was to run away. They ended up several miles deep into the cave from the entrance.
It is a MIRACLE that none of the boys lost their lives.
The boys were rescued by an international team and supported by locals. All are heroes as they risked their lives in the effort. One diver gave his life for the rescue as he brought oxygen and returned without enough for himself.

Thank you for that good summary, Hostage.
Ann Coulter retweeted @Lincoln&Grant:
“Everywhere you look - schools, TV, pop culture, the media - there is a war on men and masculinity... Until some kids get stuck in a cave. Then, all of a sudden, we need (and respect) the bravest, strongest, and brightest among us...”
A solution more grandiose than the problem called for.

Real men can get us out of caves in more ways than one.
Now we get to ask, “what the heck was that coach thinking?”
RE: Now we get to ask, what the heck was that coach thinking?
See Post #17 above.
Maybe Asians speaking English, and overdubbed for other languages. I’m not sure they need to go to the trouble of as authentic looking a production as “Passion of the Christ.”
My soccer coach was very successful, state champions. He never took us caving, maybe it's not a necessary risk to get the most out of your players.
