Trump nominates Kavenaugh
Yes. I hear Charles Schumer has already thrown in the towel.
“Hes a Jeb Bush pick.”
Reagan gave us Sandra and Kennedy, so it’s a crapshoot. Other than Souter, the Bush Clan did a damn good job (discounting Roberts on Obamacare, that is).
Given that, I’m not bothered by Jeb when it comes to judges. But if he gets anywhere near Immigration, then it’s WAR!
Levin said any of the four would be good, but he has questions for this pick.
-
Levin also questioned Trump.
Not for Chucky. For the masses.
Trump knows what he is doing his instincts are far greater than the Bushes.
Amen to that. I dont know whether to be sad or ticked off.
The fact that the Bushes love him makes me nervous.
Good question, in a way. Have you seen where the UMC is going lately?
I am surprised the President chose a D.C. person, but it might help.
The masses don’t confirm.
I am in. Trust Our President and support him. He needs it and we need him!!!
“I guess the days of Lincolnesque oratory is over. Now its all about coaching kiddies at soccer.”
The lack of oratory and common appeal is why Trump is in office. Why would Kavanaugh not follow that formula?
You’re right, of course. Trump could actually get five seats. Historic.
Kavanaugh will protect the constitution and that’s all that matters.
If the democrats choose this the hill to die on, it could destroy them. If they reject this guy they’ll be sorely disappointed with the next one. Trump fights back with a vengeance.
Thanks for posting this thread!
Thank you, Lord, for President Trump appointing Supreme Court Justices versus H. Clintoon.
If this man is half as good as Neil Gorsuch, we are blessed.
Kavenaugh has opined in previous cases in a manner in which he accepts, unequivecally, that a “precdedent” is the supreme law of the land. Yet how are precedents overturned? Some judges on a distcrict-appellate court, stronger than Kavenaugh apparently, must argue and decide in a manner that differs from a precedent, as is not only their right, but their Constitutional duty, if they see it that way.
I think Trump picked Kavenaugh BECAUSE he will not vote in the affirmative on a challenge to Roe before court - no matter how “Conservative” he is otherwise. I think Trump is seeking to protect his back end with the female vote in 2020, short cutting any repeal of Roe before then.
You think Trump’s salty and funny oratory is in any way comparable to that bland little parent-pleasing performance?
I hope the guy turns out to be a great justice. He just impressed me as a bureaucrat. Looks a little like Christopher Wray.
McConnell advised against Kavanaugh because there’s too much paper trail. If McCain sends a supporting tweet from grave well know it was a lousy pick.
W has chimed in his approval. W didn’t make such great picks.
