HANOI, Vietnam — Undeterred by a blistering rebuke of his efforts to forge a denuclearization deal with North Korea, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Sunday appealed for North Korea’s leadership to follow Vietnam’s path in overcoming past hostilities with the United States.
Pompeo called on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to replicate Vietnam’s “miracle” of economic growth by improving ties with the U.S., vowing that America keeps its promises with former foes.
Speaking to members of the U.S.-Vietnamese business community in Hanoi, Pompeo said Vietnam’s experience since the normalization of relations with the U.S. in 1995 should be proof for North Korea that prosperity and partnership with the U.S. is possible after decades of conflict and mistrust. “We know it is a real possibility because we see how Vietnam has traveled this remarkable path,” Pompeo said....

Viet Nam’s example would be for us to leave and for the country to unite. Then a united Korea would partner with other nations.
North Korea is trying to save face. We must let them. Much worse if we don’t.

Seems a little late for that. Kim has the H-bomb and an ICBM.
No, he doesn’t have a reliable ICBM.
But he hasn’t been able to wed the two, which is the hard part. Plus, we have tens of thousands of MIRVd ICBMs, SLBMs and IRBMs, as well as cruise missiles and bombs. For example, one MIRVd SLBM from one of our submarines could totally destroy EVERYTHING in North Korea.
It’s also not certain they have a H-bomb either.

there was no “blistering rebuke”, just a statement by some anonymous Nork “official” ...
If a gun is pointed towards me and the person on the trigger says he is going to kill me, I always assume it's loaded. America has such tolerance. North Korea, China and Iran should have been dealt with from the get go.

US Defense Secretary James Mattis said earlier the missile launched demonstrated North Korea had the ability to hit “everywhere in the world.”

Norks just royally sh•t all over Pompeo AT THE DIRECT BEHEST OF KJU because nobody but nobody (KCNA, Director Kim, Vice Chairman Li, DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesholes, etc etc) operates independently of Fat Boy’s personal instructions otherwise they will suffer the consequences of death...therefore this is all scripted by Kim and comes as no surprise. Cooler heads expected this at some time soon and were under no illusions. Hope is not a strategy.
