This week, President Trump will announce his nominee to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy on the United States Supreme Court. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has promised to schedule the nominees confirmation hearings for this fall, before the midterm elections.
If and when McConnell carries through on this promise, Senate Democrats should immediately file a federal lawsuit against him for violating the so-called McConnell Rule......
(Excerpt) Read more at thehill.com ...
So he derives a “RULE” when McConnell says, the people should have a voice.... Ok lets see how this would play out...
Judge:” What did you mean when you said that?
McConnell, “ That the people should voice their opinions through their representatives...”
Judge “ Case dismissed”
They had to go all the way down to Louisiana State University School of Law in order to find someone to make an argument this idiotic. I’m sure they could find a sympathetic federal judge in Hawaii though, who could be persuaded to issue a nationwide injunction . . .
What do you want to know about him?
Fits right in with the Hill’s mentality nowadays.
Law?? Democrats and GOPe are the most delusional half-wits on the face of the earth. When did they vote on this “law”?
We truly need national term limits on these self-serving bastards.
In their tiny mind, perhaps.
That is mob rule, not a Representative Republic.
The United States of America is a Representative Republic.
Deal with it!

When she goes AND the Repubs have a few more Senate seats they pick up this November, its going to get real.
McConnell made it clear that he was referring to Presidential elections in a March 20, 2016, interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. He said:
“So, all we’re doing, Chris, is following a long standing tradition of not filling vacancies on the Supreme Court in the middle of a presidential election year.”
These are exactly the type of cases that the higher courts hate to take and avoid if possible. It’s political calculus that has a remedy through legislation. The Senate is given the ability on how it conducts business and that means the Senate Majority leader schedules what the agenda is.

“A Senate rule is not a law, and a statement by a Senator is not a rule.”
the author is an idiot ...
This from the crowd threatening to stack the SCOTUS should they ever return to power...
The Hill is the biggest scum out there. They would give Stalin and Beria a platform.
It is way past time for Congress to exercise its oversight powers on the judiciary by by censoring and impeaching some for bad conduct in office.
So because Mitch made a statement, it’s now a law? Wow!
Such stunning ignorance it’s hard to believe anyone published this.
“”What do you want to know about him?””
The article was “opinion” - I simply wondered what his background was. Too many to choose from so I still don’t know.
Levy is a vicious, lying little punk masquerading as a college law professor.
He blocked a Constitutional lawyer on Twitter for having the nerve to ask him to cite the section of the Constitution buttressing his "argument".

I can’t decide if you are being sarcastic or serious - with your PM and this. I was merely curious WHICH of the names by googling was the guy who wrote the article. Why was that so difficult? I still don’t know from your replies. Asking me if I wanted his parents address? That’s quite a bit far out. I thought it was a simple question. Forget I asked.
