Kay Barely Republican. I was slightly curious to know what she was up to lately, lol.
Didn’t receive your essay, but if you have one, feel free to post directly!
Thank you for doing this every week!
Joni Ernst? I am still waiting to hear all that screaming she promised.
Seems like she went to Washington and got with the program.
What a lineup of light weights. Dick Durban, Jeff Flake, Lindsey Graham...there’s a trio of intellectual mediocrity.
It really makes me vow to never vote again, but then when you look at the dangerous craziness of the democrats. Then I'm like...
Wow, quite the CNN Trump hatefest this Sunday.
Morning AB, All. As always, thank you AB for doing this thread so reliably and keeping the peace with gentle thread policing. Thank you Bray for weekly written wisdom, Thank all yon contributors for excellent commentary to flesh it all out.
I did not do a daily diary last week because everyone else took a holiday and so did I.
There were several news items that captured my news junkee interest so allow me.
First, those boys in Thailand. As I write this, two boys have just been rescued from the mine, are out and alive.
What a strange thing to happen. And one Navy Thai Seal died during efforts to save them.
I cannot imagine how they got in there and living like they did for over two weeks now.
But today is the day when all the action takes place.
This story has captured my fascination.
Next we have the story of the 92 year old woman who killed her son because he was, allegedly, going to put her into a nursing home.
She had been living with her son and his wife. Her son was 72 by the way. Her son told her that things weren’t working out and he was going to arrange a place for her in an assisted living facility.
The 92 year old shot and killed her son. She told the judge she just wants to be put to sleep.
Near me, probably not heard of in most of America but about as tragic as it comes, on Rt 1 not far from Dover, a truck crossed a median strip, struck a van, and FIVE PEOPLE WERE KILLED!
This was in all the news yesterday. One person in the van survived but is in extremely critical condition. Will that person even want to live when learning that her entire family died in that van?
Cops had to put a big tarp over that van to cover up the awful carnage within.
Politically there’s the Jordan thing as he is suddenly accused out of nowhere for ignoring a groping wrestling team doctor.
For many years no one said a word but Jordan takes on the lovely, sweet and kind Rod Rosenstein of the FBI and suddenly the air is filled with accusations of ignoring sexual groping.
Rod Rosenstein .lovely, lovely man.
On a personal note, my doctor called me last week.
It’s never good when your doctor calls you right?
Turns out that my recent blood tests reveal I AM ANEMIC!!!
Oh come on. Of all the things I could be, anemic is not one of them.
BUT there are extenuating circumstances.
For I take coumadine, a generic medicine made from rat poison that thins your blood. I need blood thinning desperately for my AFIB.
BUT dear Lord green vegetables are my enemy.
I LOVE green vegetables. I love broccoli, brussels sprouts, goodness asparagus ..
Back in the day when I was always dieting I was told to live, die and breathe green vegetables.
Only the coumadine folks make me take a test every six weeks or so. Several times in the past year I have failed. So she increases my coumadine dosage that I may eat my beloved green vegetables.
Only all this coumadine is affecting my glucosomine levels, causing me to be anemic.
My daily practitioner is not the same person testing, monitoring and changing my coumadine and she knows nothing about my battle of the green vegetables.
Cause you know what she asks me? “Haven’t you been eating green vegetables so your blood is red and healthy?”
I can’t win.
Sure enough! How’s fishing? Catch anything yummy?
I just may have to break my vow to ignore Chris Wall-ass, and watch Hume shut down Williams again, for old times sake.
FNS is trash today...I think I can go to a nursery School and get opinions from the toddlers there. 😀
I had one friend who went to the Dry Tortugas 60 miles west of Key West and found a 40 foot Whale Shark swimming along the surface as they normally do near the deep edge of the reef in 90-120 feet.
His buddy on the 60 foot boat they were in decided to jump over the side hang on to the whale's dorsal fin and let him go for a ride. He did! The video is really awesome!
Anyway they caught a bunch of grouper-- numerous nationalities, mutton snapper and other scallywags.
I’d prefer passing a golf ball-sized kidney stone than watching this stuff.
Kenneth Blackwell is the only one worth hearing. I had lunch with him once, one-on-one, he is a bright conservative real deal.
