A self-styled adventurer is to spend a year living on a melting iceberg off the coast of Greenland to try to draw attention to climate change.
In spring next year Alex Bellini, 36, will find a suitable iceberg off the north west of Greenland where he will remain until it melts.
He hopes his stunt will raise awareness of the impact of global warming, which the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recently warned is 'widespread and consequential'.

Nope. Not a chance. 1 month tops.....if that.
As can be seen, the MEASURED TEMPERATURES are NOT as warm as the 1930's which proves that man-made changes to CO2 concentrations are NOT causing global temperatures to increase.
The record warm temperature the news media talks about is to their ADJUSTED temperatures, not to the MEASURED temperatures.
The scam artists adjusted temperatures DOWN before 2000 (apparently) because CO2 levels were lower then. As CO2 has hit new highs, the scam artists RAISED temperatures. The scam artists think you are stupid enough to let them get away with it.
Nope. Not a chance. 1 month tops.....if that.

Before he breaks down in tears? before the berg flips? before he slips while running over the flipping berg (pun intended)? before the bears show up? Which.

To highlight climate change? Calving of glaciers is natural process and what is the dramatic show of climate change as the iceberg melts? What is remarkable or unnatural about a glacier melting as it move from a freezing climate to a warmer climate? You want to impress me Bozo? Live on an iceberg tethered in place where it calved until it melts.
This is from 2014. Relevance today? Did he do it, was he onboard for flips of the iceberg as it melted?
Why do they flip?
Well; the top; in air of below freezing; stays pretty much the same size; while the underwater part is in water that is ABOVE freezing; thus melting the support right out from under the berg.
When the center of mass drifts off enough from the center of pressure; FLIP!
Of course, if the berg is a large flat sheet; it will just keep settling into the ocean.
Once it starts getting a more uniform shape; that’s when the rolling will occur.
Icebergs flip because when they melt down they look like Guam.
I see a need to introduce several Polar Bears onto that iceberg.
They are so cuddly and can keep this ‘researcher’ company....
Why did you post something from four years ago?
I have some friends that spent some time in submarines in the arctic. They say it’s quite a thing to hear underwater.
;^)
It’s because all the penguins run over to one side to see what’s happenin’!
I’d bet!
I just looked at some youtube flippings.
Quite awesome.
I vote that we arrange for a couple of polar bears be provided, maybe a couple of cubs with momma, to keep him company.
