Two former Ohio State University wrestlers are accusing Rep. Jim Jordan of ignoring sexual misconduct by a university physician more than two decades ago when he was an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State. Theres no claim that Jordan engaged in such misconduct, the claim is that he knew about, but failed to take action to stop, sexual harassment by a team doctor.

In Jordans case, the two accusers are highly suspect. According to Chuck Ross at the Daily Caller, one of them, Dunyasha Yetts, served prison time for a $1.8 million fraud scheme that involved bilking professional athletes using phony documents.

I am very unforgiving of credible abuse accusations, as well. However, this one does not pass the smell test. A collegiate wrestler is a young man - most over 18 years old. They are not wilting violets - they are young men filled with confidence, and in a semi-violent sport, to boot.
For a doctor to take such liberties with strong young men is not unknown, but I have never known a wrestler unwilling to defend themselves - physically, and immediately. I wrestled for 6 years in school, and none of us would have taken such abuse without kicking the a$$ of the doctor involved (female doctors may have had a better go of it - but that does not fit the narrative as it is).
Further, “must have known” is an innuendo - not a credible allegation. The accusers need a whole lot more evidence before I will take their allegations seriously. You, too, should cast a skeptical eye on these allegations.
“#MeToo” is a mechanism to trust the accuser, no matter what the accused says. Please don’t fall for a “metoo” accusation without significant evidence, my FRiend.
Nope. Not buying it.
Tell me this is not a conspiracy.
If they are democrats, they lie, it goes with the political party.
No different than at Penn State. And look at that mess. The school should have been closed down. People should have been executed. And then, how about Speaker Hastert? Sure, those were high school kids, but still, everyone defended these perverts. So, Jordan accused, do others collaborate his story? Are there earlier reports? Is this real? The messenger is easy to discredit but what about the underlying claims? Call me jaded, but I’ve lost my faith in trusting people.
I can’t believe this is getting any attention.
A twenty year old guy is being “abused” and was too scared to tell the police or just punch the doc in the face??????
Oh, and my, third grade teacher, Sister Patricia Mary was a pole dancer.
Geez, get real, libs.
I guess I am jaded the other way, to some extent. The allegations in this case do not smell right to me. They run counter to everything I know about wrestlers. I reserve the right to change my mind should more information come to light, but as of now I stand with Jordan.
Your viewpoint is understandable, but is also susceptible to being manipulated by those who know how to game the accusation system, as it were. This reeks of political smear, and given the propensity for such smears to be used by the anti-conservative faction in the US, I will wait and see.
Thank you for a civil and informative reply. I had hoped my post to you would elicit such a dialog. Best Regards, FRiend.
Understand, I was looking forward to seeing Jordan or someone from Freedom Caucus take over the speakership from Ryan and give a clean break from the RINOs. But this is sick what was going on at Larks Hall and that Jordan was their from 1986 to 1994 and claims ignorance doesn't pass the smell test.
Yes. That is a tragedy
