"From this moment on, Americanism NOT GLOBALISM, will be our credo" We the People, are proud we elected Donald J. Trump 45th President of the United States.....(and not Jeb Bush)
They’d rather have the approval of the Chamber and the Koch brothers.
FAIR TRADE is easy to understand and sell.
Very, very, very good post.
Thanks.

Says it all.
In before the GOPe country club membership awakens.
Both parties(uni-party) aligned against the American people.
We reaffirm our belief in the protective tariff to extend needed protection to our productive industries. We believe in protection as a national policy, with due and equal regard to all sections and to all classes. It is only by adherence to such a policy that the well being of the consumers can be safeguarded that there can be assured to American agriculture, to American labor and to American manufacturers a return to perpetrate American standards of life. A protective tariff is designed to support the high American economic level of life for the average family and to prevent a lowering to the levels of economic life prevailing in other lands.
In the history of the nation the protective tariff system has ever justified itself by restoring confidence, promoting industrial activity and employment, enormously increasing our purchasing power and bringing increased prosperity to all our people.
The cost of tariffs have not hit yet. Once price increases and job losses hit, they will not be remain popular with the base because they will be the ones most affected. Trade and tariff wars do not end well for all involved.
The Leftist Media is in a frenzy today. Yesterday, the corporate hog farmers were featured in the anti-Trump message for the 4th. Today, here are some headlines designed to energize the anti-Trump crowd-—
“””Caught In Tariff War, U.S. Distillers Fear Losing Out On Global Whiskey Boom”””
“””Northwest Ranchers Have Beef With Trump’s Trade Wars, But Still Support Him”””
“””Here’s the Decimation a Trump Trade War Could Bring to the Global Economy”””
Republican Lawmakers Fail to Accept Many Things the American People Favor
George W. Bush Jan 2001: 4.2% Jan 2009: 7.8% Donald J. Trump Jan 2017: 4.8% May 2018: 3.8%
Yet Trumps approval ratings remain very low. While I am glad he doesn’t govern by what the polls show, the polling shows a problem for Trump because the majoriry of the American people don’t have an understanding of the issues and still rely on what the media tells them. I am willing to bet a majority believe the good economy we are in now is a result of 0bamas policies because they heard it on CNN.
All I can say is that the conventional mind set dies hard. The old use for tariffs was singularly “protective.” No discussions between the parties, just slap a tariff on an imported product and the impacted country retaliates by doing likewise - that’s the end of it. Nothing more and nothing less. Well, the days of globalists wanting to deplete America are over. There’s a problem now for all the world welfare leaches, President Trump is rewriting the play book on tariffs. Tariffs are no longer just protective, they are leverage in a worldwide trade, hard nosed, deal making campaign to effect ‘fair’ and ‘free’ trade - a whole new refreshing approach by a great and powerfully effective deal maker. As usual, the stuck in the mud, atrophied Republicans, Never Trumpers, liberals, and worldwide naysayers will all be eating crow when this is over.
We find that the SWAMP is deeper and deeper than ever thought.
I particularly like the way that Trump is handling enemy China starting off with tariffs on a mere 34 billion of the 580 billion in Chinese imports sending a warning signal to American businesses to shift their production out of China back to the US or friendlier Asian countries if they can’t make the product competitively in the US. Gradually hopefully most will shift out of China and the bottom will fall out from the Chinese economy in this zero sum game. As soon as the tariff on the 34 billion goes into effect look for American businesses to start looking for their supply chain elsewhere and to stop growing their production facilities in China
Yet we have millions who will vote for a Republican in November.
Will union members vote for help for him in the fall? If they do the RATS are done.
Surely steel workers, automobile workers, construction, mining can see what in front of their faces.
I notice the media is not reporting that Merkel has backed down and is pushing for lowering their tariffs on American cars - more winning and not reported.
