I left the Republican Party. Now I want Democrats to take over

Personally, Ive thrown up my hands in despair at the debased state of the GOP. I dont want to be identified with the party of the child-snatchers. But I respect principled conservatives who are willing to stay and fight to reclaim a once-great party that freed the slaves and helped to win the Cold War. What I cant respect are head-in-the-sand conservatives who continue to support the GOP by pretending that nothing has changed.
They act, these political ostriches, as if this were still the party of Ronald Reagan and John McCain rather than of Steve Bannon and Stephen Miller and therefore they cling to the illusion that supporting Republican candidates will advance their avowed views. Wrong. The current GOP still has a few resemblances to the party of old it still cuts taxes and supports conservative judges. But a vote for the GOP in November is also a vote for egregious obstruction of justice, rampant conflicts of interest, the demonization of minorities, the debasement of political discourse, the alienation of Americas allies, the end of free trade and the appeasement of dictators.
That is why I join Will and other principled conservatives, both current and former Republicans, in rooting for a Democratic takeover of both houses in November. Like postwar Germany and Japan, the Republican Party must first be destroyed before it can be rebuilt.

Max was never a Republican to begin with. But be assured that his name is now on the domestic enemies list. I look forward to going to war against him.

Like postwar Germany and Japan, the Republican Party must first be destroyed before it can be rebuilt...a little news Boots - if the democrats ever get into power in this country again, the Republicans or any other conservative body will never again have any major role to play in US government.....

Max Boot. More like MAX ASSHOLE!

My first introduction to this man Boot, was the following Dana Milbanks piece in the Washington Post, way back in December 2015. Note Max Boot worked for the Marco Polo campaign... Tells much about the character of Marco (small hands) Polo. The neo-cons claiming to be ‘conservatives’, are in meltdown mode... Even those imported from Russia.

“But Trump has built toward this for some time, beginning with his pledge to round up and deport millions of illegal immigrants. A couple of weeks ago, after Trump said he would consider forcing Muslims in the United States to register in a database, the conservative military historian Max Boot tweeted: Trump is a fascist. And thats not a term I use loosely or often. But hes earned it.”

Well, not a conservative, though as smart as he wants people to think he is, he wants to set himself apart from conservatives by saying he is “pro-immigration”.
Conservatives by nature are not against legal immigration. We are for sane legal immigration that will benefit our country, and we are vociferously against any and all forms of illegal immigration.
He likely knows that, which is why he is a leftist. He defined himself, we didn’t.

I'd like to see this asshole's take on the Democrat Party being taken over by Communists.

The Dems plan to run the table once they get both houses.
Any remaining (ahem) Republicans will be hooted down at every turn.
They have no plans to let the GOP ever control either house or any of the three pillars of our government again.
Rebuilding the GOP in the oxymoroniccally "principled" manner that Mister Boot describes is not even a smidgen close to possible; and such a move would split our grand party into fractious oblivion. (Mister Boot knows this, one suspects). (Full disclosure, I could not read the article because the WaPo does not like my ad blocker.)
Ironically, rebuilding the GOP is what actually happened in 2016, but RINOs will never admit that.

Wow, good riddance to that one! Democrat sleeper cell or just an insane person.... I doubt any truely convicted conservative would get all bent out of shape because we were NOT putting children in jail with their parents that broke the law.
Errr, and lets not forgot many of them came with ‘adults other than their parents’
