Premier Doug Ford has officially revoked cap and trade and is now starting to wrap up initiatives funded by the doomed program.
Cap-and-trade and carbon tax schemes are no more than government cash grabs that do nothing for the environment while hitting people in the wallet in order to fund big government programs, Ford said in a statement Tuesday. I promised that the party with taxpayers dollars was over and that this would include scrapping the cap-and-trade, carbon tax slush fund.

The HVDC power lines will be everywhere with the capability moving large amounts of power for very long distances. The renewable grids of the future will span nations.
Are you familiar with Tesla v Edison? Read much of any variety?
For such a smart boy (which you keep telling us, over and over and over) your statement above might just have a serious flaw. But please, do invest in Chinese product subsidized by our taxes. LOL ;)
Who cares, this is great news for Ontario.
Wait, we can’t put ketchup on hotdogs?
After reading a few posts of yours, it’s easy to see you’re no Texan, you’re consistently a troll.
“”Obamas getting $80 million to attend and speak at a global warming orgy in Portugal, eh?””
Wonder whatever happened to his idea that some people have too much money???
FILTHY LUCRE: money, especially when gained in a dishonest or dishonorable way.
When they build an interstate AC line the operator can appease the state regulators by offloading cheap power at various places along the way. But you can't do that with DC because the ACDC inverters are very expensive.
There have been many of these line planned for many years but none have been built. There are many places in the wind corridor that have to much windpower and need to transport it back to the east.
It looks like Phillip Anschutz, the billionaire republican, will be the first to get one built from his windfarms on his ranch in Wyoming across UTAH into Nevada where it can be distributed to California.
Apparently this is another subject that you don't know much about. Let me suggest you start with google search of super grid.
Lol! He’s real passionate about that topic. Good ol Dirty Harry.
MCGA.
Wow, didn’t think he had the balls to do this. Cap and trade and global warming is religion in Canada. He also fired the top scientist the previous government hired.
Don’t know about that...Canada is NOT the USA. Maybe 10% here are what Americans would consider conservative.
OK, I get it now...we have a never Trumper on board.
Is that Canada or just Ontario and Quebec?
Ha ha ha ha. Never heard so much bull hockey before.
What Ben doesn’t tell you is it was renewable energy commitments that put Ontario energy prices through the roof.
What? The number of conservatives?
yes
Is Canada 90% liberal? Alberta? Yukon?
Ontario is a good bell weather so yes. Conservatives parties might get 20 to 35 percent of the vote but real die in the wool conservatism is low. Yukon is irrelevant. Population is only 35000. Alberta has this myth of being conservative but that was broken when the socialist party won the last election. Most elected conservatives in Alberta are similar to RINOs.
“Renewable” can’t suffer its own boom-bust?
Last I heard, windmills and turbines were still a problem-prone technology. We have no guaranteed economic steady anchor in the energy market.
I could come back at you for calling me low-information and call you low-thought.
Just Ontario but it is by far the most populous province in Canada. It is roughly 38% of all Canada. At 13.5 million it would be the 5th most populous state in the US if Canada was absorbed into it.
If he’s a successful Ontario Premier that is a possibility, many years from now.
The current leader of the Federal Conservative Party is Andrew Scheer. Baring a poor showing the election next year he will likely remain leader for the near future, hopefully will be PM.
