German Chancellor Angela Merkel has reportedly secured agreements with 14 European Union countries to rapidly return some asylum seekers as she seeks to end a schism in her government over migration policy.
The countries included Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic, which have all been harsh critics of Merkel's welcoming stance to migrants, as well as Belgium, France, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden.
Top CSU lawmaker Markus Soeder, Bavaria's governor, on Saturday praised the EU agreement as more than his party had expected, but at the same time suggested that it left open the possibility of unilateral national measures as well.
Merkel's office told dpa, however, that interpretation was wrong, saying "unilateral measures at the expense of other countries are not what is meant."
In neighboring Austria, Chancellor Sebastian Kurz again urged a European solution to migration, warning in the Bild newspaper that if the southern German region of Bavaria undertook unilateral measures it would create a "domino effect" as Austria and other EU nations then closed their borders one-by-one.
"Our goal remains a joint European solution with orderly protection of the exterior borders, and centers in third countries,' said Kurz, whose nation took over the rotating EU presidency on Saturday. "That way we can also preserve a Europe without internal borders."

Megan works wonders......
Merkel created the problem and now has a deal ,LOL morons
Return asylum seeks? Viel Gluck ( or Good Luck) with that Frau Merkel.
Die Schecks sind in der Post!
Why is it always “Merkel comes to agreement with 14 nations”, etc?
How is the German always the one who is allowed to be the centerpiece of everything?
She better do something. Soder has already said he’ll campaign with Austria’s Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz rather than his own German chancellor Merkel in the run-up to the 14 October Bavarian state elections.
Her approval rating in 2015, right before the migrant crisis began, was 70%.
What was that old Carly Simon song? “Capitulation?”
Some thoughts:
1. Practically no one will be returned
2. Once they are in Europe, even in these “centers”, they will stay in Europe
3. People will disappear from these centers in droves
4. This basically is the status quo: lipstick on the pig
Its simple: Germany is a the economic powerhouse in Europe. And for whateve reason, German politicians want to rule Europe and in fact the world. Been that way throughout pretty much all of history, with WWI and WWII just being fairly recent (in historical terms) examples.
No Italy??
Basically, you are correct.
The guy has to be picked up (for each episode, you can anticipate a minimum of twenty cops required).
You will have to have some kind of court activity, to make it ‘legal’.
Then you process the guy, and probably fly him to the original country where he signed paperwork.
Within twenty-four hours of arrival, he’ll disappear, and show back up in Germany within a week. Then you will repeat the whole process, over, and over, and over, and over.
They do have rather a loose cannon in charge now.
Yeah i don’t know what to make of the Italy person in charge now...Salvini. Trump tweeted that he likes him.
Beyond yelling trendy slogans about migrant boats, and sticking the middle finger back at Brussels - at the end of the day, you gotta actually know how to run and manage a country. Whether this man...and Italy, is capable remains to be seen. His background is in leftist community activism, not private sector or anything business oriented.
Merkel has been able to get away with all the craziness she has in large part because the German economy has done so well.
Italy on the other hand has historically struggled economically since before the migrant crisis and perhaps before even the E.U. was created...
Tough choice for some nations. Make killing babies illegal, or allow more barbarians to take the place of the babies you get to kill. My advice, at least the babies can be potty trained. Lol.
