The 12-year-old daughter of two undocumented immigrant parents delivered an emotional speech at the Families Belong Together rally in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.
The girl, identified only as “Leah” in a CNN video, fought back tears while speaking out against the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy, which has resulted in more than 2,000 migrant children being detained and separated from their parents.
“Why do they hurt us like this?” She said. “It is unfair that they get to spend time with their families today while there are children in detention centers and in cages all alone missing their parents, who are thrown in jail.”
The thousands of attendees cheered Leah on and chanted “Shame” in response to mentions of Trump policies and family separations.
Leah shared her personal fears that her mother will be arrested and deported, saying that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) wants to “take away my mom from me.”
“I don’t like to live with this fear, it’s scary,” Leah said. “I can’t sleep, I can’t study, I am stressed.”
“I don’t understand why this administration won’t support mothers who just want a better life for their children,” she continued. “This needs to change.”
Leah said that she wanted to be “an example” to other kids with undocumented parents, and to tell them “not to give up.”
“We are all human and deserve to be loved and cared for,” she said. “We are children. Our government has to do the right thing and stop separating us from our parents.”

At the end of the excerpt in the 1st post the girl states “our government” WTF? She and her illegal parents are criminals that broke the law. Her government is in Mexico or some other 3rd world sh*thole not the US government. The nerve of these lieing illegals.

If I recall, the 1950’s Operation Wetback, an attempt to deport 12 million Mexicans here illegally, was stopped early because the nightly news showed hysterical women and crying children. The attempt was an effort to get jobs for the men returning from the Korean war.
The thing to do is stop them from ever getting here in the first place. The cement footpaths at the US border with Mexico, are, in places close to hospitals, literally worn down to troughs. Close the gates. Nobody gets in without a passport and a visa.
I met Mexicans who worked in California and went home at night or on weekends. How is that possible?
Illegal aliens all need to be arrested and deported.
