Wednesdays retirement announcement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy sparked strong reactions from both right and left, but the takes from so-called #NeverTrumpers, or ideological conservatives who opposed President Trump in 2016, ranged from crickets to eating some much-deserved crow.

If @realDonaldTrump appoints 2 or 3 true libertarian/constitutionalists 2 #SCOTUS (@SenMikeLee ?) trump just may become the most important presidents in my lifetime.. - sometimes I love being wrong. If both sides can find our common decency as well, we just may make it. 6:12 PM - Jun 27, 2018

Republicans are all over the place on immigration policy, trade policy, and foreign policy. Divisions in the party are deep and real. Those divisions disappear when judges are on the line. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/anthony-kennedy-retirement-legal-political-implications/

As I acknowledged during Gorsuch, I got this one 100% wrong. Obviously. There's a reason I even put on a MAGA hat during the Gorsuch hearings. 3:34 PM - Jun 27, 2018 342 187 people are talking about this

Now they see. /s. When your boat is sinking and Trump sails by ya gonna swim or climb on. These guys need to wear those girls hats from the march in DC. Keep your enemies close and your friends closer. These are flotsam.

The most important election in the past 100+ years and they were completely wrong.
Completely obnoxious to boot.

Bingo!
And beyond that, this was the easiest call in my lifetime, Clinton or Trump.
One of our nimrods trashed Trump from the time he obtained the delegates he needed in April all the way to September, knowing full well it could herm his chances in the face of a Clinton challenge.
Thats just downright stupid.

Once again, the power of the “invisible hand” reveals itself to be superior to all the “experts” and “analysts”.

I don’t trust any of them, they have no influence.
Remember when Hugh Hewitt was trashing Trump on his knowledge of foreign policy and military affairs.
They should be too embarrassed to show their faces, but they still do.

Ha!!! You got that right!!! The winning is so grand. All we have to do is stand up straight and walk proudly by (with a tad smirk on our faces.)
Career suicide each.
And McCain who always has the Dems at his back as he trash talks Trump--who very few wanted as President versus the outstanding win of President Trump--is going to pass on with President Trump's highly successful (already) legacy in tact. And McCain just a measly small, traitorous man who could only buy himself a lifelong Senate seat with his wife's money after throwing away his first wife as she was no longer looking good on his arm.
Good riddance to them all.

They are so-called experts who took months or years to get where normal citizens got immediately.
I have no interest in the further opinions of persons who display such a spectacular lack of judgment.

Why do people just keep bringing Beck up? He’s a nutcase.
To: conservative98
Most of the National Review-affiliated guys (Lowry, French, Shapiro) have more or less admitted that they were wrong with the NeverTrump thing, have given credit to Trump where rightly credit is due on many issue and have moved on. Fine.
And then there are guys like Bill Kristol and George Will who discount anything good that Trump does but still sort of promote conservative views in their other work. These guys persist in their belief that conservatives would somehow, in a way that they never seem to quite explain, have been better off with Hillary Clinton in charge.
Finally, there's a special category of NeverTrumper that has completely lost it. Two members of that group are Jennifer Rubin and Max Boot., both of the WaPo. These two ex-conservatives seem to have taken the position that Trump is wrong about everything. If Trump is for conservatism, then they're for liberalism now. They're willing to jettison beliefs that they themselves once held simply because Trump now holds them.
To: conservative98
I don’t understand why people keep deploying this “court turned right for a generation” nonsense. If a dem gets elected in 2020, the court could well get turned left very quickly.
