Remember when Laura Ingraham tweeted about how David Hogg was whining after being rejected by a bunch of colleges, and the left, in a fit of outrage, immediately went after her shows advertisers? I seem to recall folks on the right were pretty irritated at those pushy social justice warriors. But now that White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was asked to leave a restaurant out of the owners moral conviction, some say its time to go low and fight dirty.

Yes, the party of fools are rioting. But again ... what lasting damage are they doing to conservatives? Is this going to rush in a blue wave or will it result in a red tide?

I live in DC. The entire “civility” movement here was meant to silence uppity citizens critical of the burgeoning power of the federal government. Be civil. In other words Shut UP!

No. In fact I think it will be answered loud and clear ... with a new conservative justice on the Supreme Court and a huge conservative voter turnout later this year that will give us huge, bigly gains in Congress.
Provocation is meant to provoke, obviously, and what the left wants is a response that would give them the excuse to go all out into violence. Giving them no response, the Bush strategy, is a waste of time; Trump is right to fight back, although sometimes I wish hed aim a little higher and get at the true problem, which is not in civility or rude speech, but the fact that they are trying to provoke a breakdown in the social order.
And the leftists have been pretty effective: theyve gotten away with riots, physical attacks on speakers they dont like, at least one shooting (the GOP baseball game), violation of civil rights by refusing service to people, criminal harassment, etc. They are never prosecuted for these things and they should be.
And of course now we find out that even our law enforcement agencies have been taken over by the left and the law itself is being twisted and used against us (the FBI campaign to elect Hillary and, when that didnt work, get rid of Trump, for example).
So I think the problem goes way beyond incivil speech, and I think that we have got to push for a return to a society of laws. The left is turning the US into a rabble-run Third World style chaos, and the laws that exist to prevent that are not being enforced. They wont stop it voluntarily, because its been allowed to go on unpunished too long.

Conservatives? I hear no conservatives. They are all civilly being silent as GOPe is instructing them to do.
That was a much different time than we live in today. The open hostility and physical aggression towards Republicans and especially Conservatives is actively promoted and encouraged by Democrat Party Leadership, the lying liberal lamestream media propaganda machine, "Hollywood", print media, in our educational system and more.
We are harassed in our jobs, protests outside our homes, some cast our by their own families and more.
In the 1980's the Democrats were often referred to as the "loyal opposition" and the two political parties at minimum kept each other in check. (That point's debatable to be sure however the civility of being political opponents on the House and Senate floor during the day while socializing at night cannot be understated. Tip O'Neil worked with President Reagan as one example.)
What we have now is an entire political party that's become completely unhinged and their response to losing elections is to swing further left towards tyranny.
