Most voters fear that political violence is coming from opponents of the presidents policies, just as they did in the second year of Barack Obamas presidency, and nearly one-in-three think a civil war is next.
Thirty-one percent (31%) of Likely U.S. Voters say its likely that the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years, with 11% who say its Very Likely. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 59% consider a second civil war unlikely, but that includes only 29% who say its Not At All Likely. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Democrats (37%) are more fearful than Republicans (32%) and voters not affiliated with either major party (26%) that a second civil war is at hand.
But 59% of all voters are concerned that those opposed to President Trumps policies will resort to violence, with 33% who are Very Concerned. This compares to 53% and 28% respectively in the spring of Obamas second year in office. Thirty-seven percent (37%) dont share that concern, including 16% who are Not At All Concerned.
Fifty-three percent (53%) are concerned that those critical of the medias coverage of Trump will resort to violence, with 24% who are Very Concerned. Forty-two percent (42%) are not concerned about violence from media opponents, including 17% who are Not At All Concerned.

Most likely.
Let’s just call it a Police Action.
I (highly) doubt this.
No way.
What color will the uniforms be?
Oops.
Forgot sources and links. What happened to safety features?
Source is Rasmussen, published 27/6/18.
Antifa/KKK hoods on the one side, with body armor.
hardened MAGA hats and kevlar on the other.
The Left live mainly in places like government and academia, or other areas fed by cheap money and debt.
They would simply disappear if we switched to a gold standard, rather than a fiat, printed-money debt standard, courtesy of the Federal Reserve. Government would shrink rapidly, and progressivism would simply die of starvation.
More likely a war within the Democratic Party.
Not sure what a civil war would look like, but I’ll know it when I see it.
It will be both. I don't see much of a chance of "street fighting" in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Utah, Wyoming and much of the mid west and mountain states. Don't be ridiculous.
Who’s the idiot that thought up the question in the first place?
no, its a great question. Afraid of the truth are we?
If you run out to the street and you’re alone, we’re not there yet.
I rather expect a low grade continuing conflict that consists of mob actions turning into armed mob actions and assassinations/bombings that will continue and get worse until one side or another takes power a la South American Juntas. I do believe that the Republic is on its last legs because we do not have a population that can support it. In a few years, maybe a very few years, we will be hoping for a Ruler on our side and will suffer greatly if the other side takes the crown. It will be the same for the other side.
One side better understands that it entails more than a violent protest followed by a comfy airconditioned bus ride home (with a reefer of two).
Real ‘war’ is a horror they cannot yet fathom.
Just another reason to get your prepper but ready Arms ,Ammo ,Food ,Water ,toilet paper and a fly swatter !
Most urban areas are no go zones for Suburban/Rural folks anyway......other than the downtown events/work areas. I doubt they will become battle grounds. The violent minority of folks who create the perception of unrest is actually pretty small, but the perception that is it so large is due the to the media.
The poorest are most likely to obese, have smart phones and are used to 24 hour entertainment. Almost everyone is used to air conditioning. The number of eligible voters that choose not vote have out numbered any single political party for 100+ years. The 24 hour news cycle makes the people who care about politics over estimate the number of people that care like they do. Hard for me to imagine any sort of widespread civil unrest must less civil war while these conditions persist. It’s possible I guess. Maybe if smart phones quit working, ha.
