An activist and member of the Democratic Socialists of America, Ocasio-Cortez won over voters in the minority-majority district with a ruthlessly efficient grassroots bid, even as Crowley -- the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House -- outraised her by a 10-to-1 margin.

This is a victory.
The extreme left is extremely nuts, but SOME of the extreme left and us have a common foe; the establishment in both parties. Some of the Bernie bros realized that and are Trump supporters now; others just want to purge their own party.
And ousting a 20-year establishment Congressman is good news.
An open, avowed socialist, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America group, running on Democratic ticket no less. What an incredible anti-American candidate—sides with NY governor candidate, with Harris in California. Them and Maxine Waters truly redefine the Democrats. Will the blue wave be of people leaving the party?
The average district is 710,000 people. Out of 214,044 registered Democrats, 27,658 voted. She got 57% of the vote, or about 15,700 votes.

We on FR are called the extreme right, but that would be wrong. This site has the political bent of the constitution. We just want our actual Free Republic. It isn’t extreme to want freedom only lightly checked for basic civilization and defense.
Some on the other side of the aisle are also seeing the utter corruption of the unchecked left. They have no choice to come at the status quo from anything but socialism. And the corrupt entrenched left can’t have socialism without losing their personal power as the elites. Socialism requires anointed elites. The entrenched Dems have to fight real socialism or they will be ousted as the power brokers. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. And we are still here, providing an actual FAIR POLITICAL ALTERNATIVE. You know, a philosophy that works WITH human nature, not against it.
