FYI - Lake Lanier is supplied by the Chattahoochee *AND* the Chestachee rivers.

The two watersheds are actually quite small given the size of the lake — compared to nearby lakes. ALL major ‘lakes’ in Georgia are man made.

Also . . . wonder when they might address the GA/TN state line @ near Chattanooga and the TN River near the Nickajack Lake/Dam. Husband and I were discussing this a.m. while waiting for Janus and this rulings. Was suppose to be at “some?” parallel ... but map was drawn wrong and that parallel is in middle of river but yet state line for TN is like 200’ southwest of river? Not exactly sure but that would give GA some water IF they ever won that fight.

5th generation Floridian here and I can vouch for the fact that the morons that are responsible for building out every square inch of swampland in my state are making sure that we will all become victims of the giant sinkhole we are ultimately creating.

This case has been going on for 20 years or more. It’s about upriver users like Atlanta sucking the water out of the Chatahoochee, denying use to downriver residents and businesses, not really related to California at all.

I’m at 57’ elevation and the water table is less than 3’ down currently. I’m on a well so no water issue.

I wish the aquafer was more porous to draw the water level down faster. FEMA took 3/4s of my property 2 years ago for being ‘wetlands’. It’s a swamp but it’s filling in due to all the houses around it and birds. Soon as my cypress swamp fills in I’m taking my land back -right before I put the house on the market. But I like it. It’s like living in a nature preserve.

Tennessee boy here who vacationed in Florida many times in my youth(Round Dayton, st Augustine and Destin) Great times but Florida has gotten too "touristi" and crowded now. Sorry about that.

No, Florida has a serious issue with depleting their aquifers causing salt water intrusion near the coasts and increased sinkholes.

Everybody always thinks of the west coast and California when it comes to increased development, population and strained water supplies, but as this shows it effects many other places.

I don’t have any real interest in who wins that water. Or forced to share that water. We’re close to the border but not enough to affect us. But it is indeed kinda weird with the border in that area along the interstate . . . you’re in TN then in GA for a flash then back in TN again.
