The judge blamed the "chaotic circumstance of the government's own making" for the turmoil surrounding the separation of migrant children from their parents.
A federal judge in San Diego ordered immigration agents on Tuesday to stop separating migrant parents and children who have crossed the border from Mexico and to work to reunite families that have already been split up while in custody.
U.S. District Court Judge Dana Sabraw issued a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit filed by an anonymous woman from the Democratic Republic of Congo and backed by the American Civil Liberties Union, which was expanded to become a class action as U.S. authorities began a "zero tolerance" policy in early May.
President Donald Trump issued an executive order to end the family separations last Wednesday, but the government has yet to reunite about 2,000 children with their parents.

If these kids have “standing” then everyone has “standing” for everything.
They do not separate families who enter at a checkpoint seeking asylum. The parents have not committed a crime.
They are housed in family residential centers run by HHS until their case is heard, usually a couple of months.

The Supreme Court just ruled the President has authority to make these decisions. I guess this judge wasn’t paying attention.
This judge thinks they can prosper against one of Obama’s edits? Other judges have tried to stop them and failed. Seems rather ironic to me. Clinton law and Obama edict, with Trump being blamed.

As I understand it, Sabraw is effectively attempting to override a USSC decision. Since this is in the 9th Circuit, there is a good chance this will got to the USSC. Which means in the long term, he may have just handed Trump another victory by going too far in his ruling.
Going to be interesting to see which way they try to go on appeal: vacate their own precedent? Seems unlikely, but they are liberals.
DOJ should appeal just for the sake of inflicting maximum embarrassment.

The SCOTUS ruling TUESDAY basically affirms what we already know: absent a clear LEGISLATIVE hindrance, the EXECUTIVE branch handles illegal aliens. Even SCOTUS admits this FACT.
