The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 5-4 ruling, upheld President Donald Trump's restriction on travel to the United States from a handful of Muslim countries on Tuesday, giving the White House its first high court victory on the merits of a presidential initiative.

A major win for President Trump. The Liberal Justices are howling. They hyperbolically compared the decision to Korematsu v. United States, the decision which allowed FDR to intern Americans who were Japanese. Liberals allows use emotion in response to logic. The majority responded by symbolically overruling Korematsu.

The fact that this was a 5-4 vote shows how politicized SCOTUS has become. This should have been a slam dunk for Trump.

Well, per Judge Napolitano on Fox Business (take that for what it is worth), the ruling is preliminary in that the Hawaii judge can still hold a trial on the ban and if that trial results in a decision against the ban, the ban would be overturned. This is like death by never ending litigation.

Hmmmm.....the ban is way overdue but I’m not in favor of any legislation which delegates so much to the Chief Executive

Change the Constitution if that is what you believe. This goes beyond legislation.

I suspect the four voted that way just to make the statements they did in the dissent. i.e. they voted that way because it didn’t change the ruling, and gave them a chance to vent their hatred of trump.
