The owner of the Virginia restaurant that banned his daughter, White House Press Sec. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, organized a mob and followed her family to their next restaurant where they yelled and screamed at them, Former Governor Mike Huckabee said Monday.

While national media have reported Sarah Sanders’ ouster from the restaurant on Friday, “There’s a part of that story that has not been told,” Mike Huckabee told radio host Laura Ingraham on Monday:

“Once Sarah and her family left – of course Sarah was asked to please vacate – Sarah and her husband just went home, they’d had enough. But, the rest of her family went across the street to a different restaurant.

“The owner of the Red Hen – nobody’s told this – then followed them across the street, called people and organized a protest, yelling and screaming at them from outside the other restaurant and creating this scene.”

A family member - who is ardently anti-Trump – then went outside to confront and rebuke her fellow liberals, Huckabee says:

“One of the members of Sarah’s in-laws who were there – by the way, most of her in-laws, not her mother in-law and father in-law, but most of them are very liberal. And, one of them walked out and said: 'Look, I don’t like Trump. I’m not a supporter. I’m a far – considered liberal – but, you guys are embarrassing me and you’re not helping your cause.'”

“It was ironic, and he said, ‘Sarah’s not even here; you’re yelling and screaming at somebody who’s not here.’"

Huckabee warned that Americans need to be wary of how dangerous this type of harassment is:

“This is what the Left has been reduced to – it’s really tragic. And, it is dangerous and that’s what I think people need to recognize.”

If a protester makes violent bodily contact because of one’s politics, then all bets are off and flesh will be cut and then it’s up to the jury.

“...And why dont they come to my home and harrass me? Please, please, please LEFTIES, come harrass me....”

Agreed. I’m right there with ya.
PLEASE come harass me, you insane commie POSs...Nothing I’d love more about right now. I’ve got the only known cure for their insanity right here.. it’s the genuine thing, no snake oil here..and it’s only a very small lead-injection (52g NBT), but I can guarantee em that it will cure their liberal-induced insanity 100%...permanently too! And I won’t even charge em a single red cent for the “cure”.

Sounds like an assault to me however strange this whole thing is. I consider it a gift kind of like Anthony Weiner.

Best “lunch hour” ever!
= = = = = = = = = =

Sounds like a version of a dungaree liberty.

I don’t remember the event but does sound effective...

Guess MSM was more concerned in running the ‘murder’ at KS into the ground...

They were some ‘interesting’ times with the same type of BS taking place across the land.

Of course when the draft was lifted, all the ‘rich white boys’ pulled out and left the ‘ladies’ and minorities to carry the load and it was easier to put the unrest down.

Like ‘they’ say, ‘follow the money’.

The left has absolutely no idea what can happen.

Well they got an inkling last year at the Battle of Berkeley, but for the most part you are correct.

Lexington Virginia would make an excellent battleground if the right chose to fight there.

The laws vary from state to state. Here’s Ohio. Again can they withstand the SCOTUS? I would think some of it would.

Disorderly Conduct
Title 29, Chapter 2917 § 11
Ohio’s disorderly conduct law prohibits people from

-Making unreasonable noise.

-Making an offensively course utterance or gesture.

-Insulting or taunting someone under circumstances likely to provoke a violent response.

-Preventing someone from moving along a public street or from entering/leaving a public or private property.

If a harasser is using sexually explicit or other offensive language, taunting you, shouting loudly at you, or stops you from using the sidewalk or entering a store or another public place, you can report him/her.

The prohibition of language likely to provoke a violent response is what is known as a “fighting words” law.

Since street harassment rarely results in the harassed person fighting back, these laws usually have not been used to address street harassment. But you can still try using it, and if enough people make a case for why it should be used, then it might be applied more often.

Harassment and the Law

Penalty:
Disorderly conduct is a minor misdemeanor, punishable by a fine. If the offense is committed near a school or in a school safety zone, it is a misdemeanor in the fourth degree, punishable by up to 30 days in jail.

I always thought conservatives would start the next Civil War. It looks like we’re not, but we certainly will end it. They don’t know who they’re messing with. We have all the guns and all the brains.

Sarah and her husband weren't there. The mob followed her family across the street, relatives aren't public figures.

Frankly I doubt a mob following a public figure would avoid charges under circumstances like this. Depending on the public figure, of course.

How about interrupting somebody else’s place of business? Even the Girl Scouts have to get permission to hang out in front of a store.

“They are going to get violent.”

They are stupid. We’re the ones with guns.

And shovels.

I have 18 acres and back the Cherokee national Forest. That could hide a lot.

[ In the meantime, President Trump fights alone. ]

Pretty much, out there in the public eye.

The liberals are insane. We may need the military to protect the President and the Presidency.

“I think people are allowed to assemble to protest a public figure. 1st Amendment right to assembly, right to redress grievances. There are laws on the books to inhibit assembly, I’ll grant you that. Personally I don’t think they hold much Constitutional muster.”

Amendment I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

PEACEABLY assemble.

Following people because they are relatives of someone who works for an elected official, and disrupting their ability to engage in simple commerce or eat a meal PEACEABLY is NOT a first amendment right.

It is stalking and disturbing the peace.

The 1st Amendment right allows people to peaceably assemble and redress grievances against the government. It does allow people to protest a restaurant for even the most asinine of reasons. It allows them to say almost anything short of incitement to violence, libel, or obscenities but even most anti-obscenity laws have been overturned and libel defenses include parody, satire, sarcasm. Of course there are laws that are stricter than my interpretation, whether and to what degree they are protected is open to interpretation. But the Supreme Court has been pretty lenient on speech including commercial speech.

Fighting Words laws are seldom used not just because the target of harassment rarely fights, but because violence is rarely legally defensible by accusations of verbal abuse. If one guy yells and the other guy punches which one will the cops cuff? For the most part speech is almost always protected and violence is almost never protected, and a person cannot be arrested for “causing” counter-protesters to respond to his speech in a violent fashion.

Targeting the in-laws of an official is a different issue. It could be harassment. But this mob was gathered because they thought Sarah Huckabee was inside. Is it a crime to be a jackass or a moron? No. Were they still allowed to protest? More or less yes. Whether they were peaceably assembled seems debatable. I don’t know enough but I didn’t see any report of violence or preventing people from coming or going.

When the Democratic convention was in Los Angeles in 2000 they fenced off the property and put a “free speech zone” for protesters to gather behind a fence, many blocks out of sight of the arena. A federal court ruled that the protesters had to be allowed within sight and sound of that which they were protesting and it cited some precedent. The bottom line is they could, imo, protest Trump outside a restaurant no matter who was dining there as long as they were peaceful and did not obstruct commerce.
