WaPo editorial board: Sarah Sanders 'should be allowed to eat dinner in peace'

The Washington Post editorial board defended White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday after she was kicked out of a Virginia restaurant.

The “never-at-rest social media” has blurred the lined of public and private life, the newspaper’s board wrote.

“It wasn’t the first time recently that strong political feelings have spilled into what used to be considered the private sphere,” the editorial board wrote. “We understand the strength of the feelings, but we don’t think the spilling is a healthy development.”

Earlier this week, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Washington, D.C., was interrupted by protesters.

The same thing happened days later to Trump’s top immigration adviser, Stephen Miller, who was called a “fascist” while dining at another Mexican restaurant.

“We nonetheless would argue that Ms. Huckabee, and Ms. Nielsen and Mr. Miller, too, should be allowed to eat dinner in peace,” the editorial board wrote.

The editorial came the day after Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) called on her supporters to continue confronting Trump officials in public.

“Actually, a fun project would be to open a conservative/LEO friendly restaurant/bar in DC.”

Better still, a Yelp analog for Conservatives, that rates restaurants not only on the food, but also the politics of the owners.

Think about this.

Employee of business A is consulted by the employer over can we or should we do business with customer B. The vote is really immaterial. The prescident of the integrity of the employer, customer, and employee roles has been destroyed by this stupid act.

Fast forward. A month later, who is the boss? Who is the customer? Who is the employee?

Uh-oh.......

That Washington Post editorial headline was more the “Let Them Eat Cake” variety type of statement.
Mike Huckabee is still so wrong about MS-13 and Nancy Pelosi according to the editorial board.
Nancy Pelosi therefore is allowed to feed the MS-13 animals and the Huckabee’s at the Huckabee Wildlife Center with civility.

I’m sure there’s a big equivocation or qualification in there somewhere....but I’m not going to read it to find out.

Exactly! Hard to know why they wrote this, but it’s a win for us either way

they realize that they’ve gone too far and were not expecting the blowback they got.

Republicans [GOPeers] never fight back. So all you need to do is turn up the heat and they will cave. Look at all of our "favorite" old republican senators. They always cave. So they figured it is with the voters. After all where are THEY going to go.

Well, uh, errr, Trump. And the more they tell us how bad he is the more we support him, not them, not any of them, not Maxine, not nameless.

Washington Post article indicates some of them are beginning to get a clue, emphasis on some and beginning.

Scott Adams, who is nit a Republican but likes Trump, is predicting full on warfare.

He says he will no longer accept speaking engagements as a result.

I would appreciate it if more businesses were candid about not wanting the business of those with conservative beliefs. It would definitely make my purchase decisions easier. Thank’s Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Point to one law she or the president have broken.

One!

These people are in effect punishing righteousness.

Satan’s minions grow bolder and bolder.

I don’t blame you. I suspect they had to change the post to “Sarah Huckabee-Sanders should be allowed to eat in peace”, from their original, “Sarah Huckabee-Sanders should be shot at dawn and her body ground up and dumped into the sewage system”,

The WaPo editorial board members eat at the same places the Trump Administration officials do, and where the Obama people ate before them ... they don’t want to see those places close due to these disruptions, subsequent boycotting, etc. Not to mention, this behavior is absolutely repulsive, boorish, and uncivil.

The one key factor I see in this whole story is that this idiot ‘owner’ (the boss) asked the employees to take a vote, and their vote result is how the ‘owner’ made this decision.

I’m not a business person, but I took enough university classes on the topic, and spent enough time in the military. You need to use your own judgement, and tell people what your expectations are. It’s obvious the ‘owner’ doesn’t care about profits or customers reacting to this....neither to her employees. They think the world will continue to exist for their social warrior operation Red Hen. I’d give her maybe six to eight months at best before they shut down. The headquarters of Red Hen may pull out the contract and dissolve her ownership this week (its a fair possibility that she violated some understanding).

I’m made to understand that it’s a stand-alone, not a franchise and those other Red Hen’s that are catching flak just happened to choose the same name. Have you found out differently?
