Michael Friedman never imagined that naming his restaurant The Red Hen would be so controversial.
But when the co-owner of another restaurant named The Red Hen – this one almost 200 miles away in Lexington, Va. – refused to serve White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders on Friday night, it was open season on any eatery with Hen in its name.
“It was a bit of an interesting day yesterday,” Friedman told Fox News. “There were so many negative comments floating in on social media and people calling up my restaurants to threaten us.”
The foul play began when Sanders tweeted that she was told by the owner of the Red Hen in Lexington, Va., that she had to "leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left." She said the episode Friday evening said far more about the owner of the restaurant than it did about her.
"I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so," Sanders said in the tweet from her official account, which generated 22,000 replies in about an hour.
While Friedman tried to quickly quell any bird-brained backlash mistakenly directed at his Italian-influenced restaurant by posting on its social media accounts that his eatery had no affiliation to the one in Lexington, it did little to stop the flood of angry comments and calls. One person called up one of Friedman’s other restaurants and threatened to blow it up, while another just repeated the word “shame” over and over again.
“This is a huge misconception,” Friedman said. “We are not affiliated with the restaurant in Lexington; this is not a franchise. We serve whoever walks through out door, no matter their race, creed, sexual orientation, political party or whatever.”

At least in what I'm reading, I don't see much deference given to non-white Trump supporters because they aren't white. I wouldn't be surprised if a black conservative will be refused service in a "progressive" restaurant in an attempt to show that leftism, which is increasingly accused of being anti-white, is supposedly not racist or obsessed with matters like skin color and ethnicity. "We tolerant people cannot tolerate intolerance, no matter what color of the person practicing it."
I for one, would make sure the correct
party was being addressed before
contacting them with my displeasure.

I think Nielsen should have called 911, but not Hickabee. A protest in a restaurant is disorderly conduct, and interference with business. It cannot be tolerated.
It would have been nice if Huckabee recorded it though.

After reading this current thread, I especially notice this part now from the foxnews.com article linked from the "Correspondents' Association..." thread:
"I'm never really sure what to call Sarah Huckabee Sanders," the comedian continued. "Is it Sarah Sanders? Is it Sarah Huckabee Sanders? Is it Cousin Huckabee? Is it Auntie Huckabee Sanders? Like, what's Uncle Tom but for white women who disappoint other white women?"
Having dinner with her family, who lives in Lexington. Why is that a problem?

I should come to you if you give it some additional thought.
If a McDonalds went a did something this ‘stupid’...the franchise would come and take the franchise away (it’d be in the legal language of ownership). I can’t imagine Red Hen not having a similar legal standing against this one operation. But in this case, because of the employees being part of the problem....you’d have to shut the whole operation down, and hire fresh people.
Dr Ben Carson has zero chance of being tossed out of a southern restaurant by a white.

My view is that the left is more extreme than it once was, and black conservatives increasingly "don't count as black" to them.
I would be unsurprised if something like this did happen in 2018 to a notable black conservative at some "progressive" business, in the South or not, that couldn't possibly be racist (because those progressives are our loving, tolerant neighbors) and was interested in avoiding triggering their gay employees or whatnot.

We know they're capable of almost anything... look at the effort they made to nullify our vote for President.
