WASHINGTON (Reuters) U.S. President Donald Trump urged Republicans lawmakers on Friday to drop their efforts to pass comprehensive immigration legislation until after the November elections that he hopes will see more party members voted into Congress.
The Republican president, faced with a public outcry over his policy that separated children from their migrant parents at the U.S. border with Mexico, tried to refocus the immigration debate on Congress in a series of early posts on Twitter.
Despite Republican control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, the partys slim 51-49 majority in the latter chamber makes some Democratic support necessary to pass most legislation.
Elect more Republicans in November and we will pass the finest, fairest and most comprehensive Immigration Bills anywhere in the world, Trump said on Twitter.
Republicans should stop wasting their time on Immigration until after we elect more Senators and Congressmen/women in November. Dems are just playing games, have no intention of doing anything to solves this decades old problem. We can pass great legislation after the Red Wave! he said.

So had Maxamillian.
From wiki
The Empire managed to gain recognition by major European powers including Britain, Austria, and Prussia.[3] The United States however, continued to recognize Juárez as the legal president of Mexico. Maximilian never completely defeated the Mexican Republic; Republican forces led by President Benito Juárez continued to be active during Maximilian’s rule. With the end of the American Civil War in 1865, the United States (which had been too distracted by its own civil war to confront the Europeans’ 1861 invasion of what it considered to be its sphere of influence) began more explicit aid of President Juárez’s forces. Matters worsened for Maximilian after the French armies withdrew from Mexico in 1866. His self-declared empire collapsed, and he was captured and executed by the Mexican government in 1867. His wife, Charlotte of Belgium (Carlota), had left for Europe earlier to try to build support for her husband’s regime; after his execution, she suffered an emotional collapse and apparently became insane.[4]
until after the November elections
Thanks ding_dong_daddy_from_dumas.
The US went to war with Mexico once. Shoulda kept ALL our gains (instead of merely half) is my guess.
...Somehow, I cant see a winning strategy here.
The most recent cover to TIME magazine newsletter is on view in US' offices and living rooms. Will there be a correction longer than a few sentences most people won't see?
IMHO, this one visual LIE is the reason for the President's re-direction.
We should have kept most of the desert.
Thank you. That reinforces my point. we would have had a mess.
Regards-
I agree with you actually.
But it’s a mess anyway. Have a great day, laplata
