There is of course a slant to this report however, we need to look at how truth is presented to understand progressives.
A long-running battle has now escalated to the point where House Republicans are threatening top federal law enforcement officials with contempt of Congress if the Justice Department and FBI do not comply by the end of the week with document requests related to the Hillary Clinton email and Trump-Russia investigations.
[snip] Republican leaders gave DOJ and FBI until this Friday to comply, a source familiar with the meeting told ABC News. Lawmakers had not received all of the requested documents as of Wednesday. The House Intelligence Committee has been given access to a "small portion" of the documents requested, according to a congressional official.
The Justice Department and FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but FBI Director Chris Wray said last week that while his agency has "an obligation to be responsive to legitimate congressional oversight" it also has "an obligation to protect sources and methods are not compromise ongoing criminal investigations."

They seem to take turns threatening this stuff so everyone gets a good sound bite to use in the next election.
No more threats, enough is enough, and it is not about protecting sources, they answer to Congress, and the White House.
They seem to think they are a another separation of power who answers to no one.

Another new deadline. Also, what happens if the DOJ just blows them off? Contempt of Congress - so what. We are in a whole new world.
Unfortunately contempt charges will never happen. The committee is made up of spineless jelly fish.

The corrupt and sleazy Department of Justice and FBI open a phony investigation into Donald Trump and his campaign using a contrived basis in order to mount a fishing expedition searching communications and other records and interrogating people in hopes of finding a crime, any crime to be used to remove him from office.
Any attempt to challenge this corrupt enterprise and hold the DOJ malfeasors responsible is met with claims of “obstruction of justice!”
And when Congress tries to get to the bottom of it all, DOJ conceals its wrongdoing under cover of “ongoing investigation!”
Pfft.
Quit with the warnings.
Quit with the threats.
Indict them & do it today.
IIRC Holder shrugged off his “contempt of Congress” so I doubt this means anything. The GOP just ain’t serious.
