On the eve of two major immigration votes, weeks of hard-fought negotiations took a turn with a heated blowup on the House floor between two lead negotiators.
House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows, a conservative Republican from North Carolina, erupted at House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin over their agreement involving two major immigration bills, saying several times, "I'm done," while pointing in an animated fashion at the top House Republican and raising his voice as their colleagues watched.
The explosion drew widespread attention from inside the chamber and out -- and surfaced once again the long-simmering tension between House Republican leadership and the conservative bloc of lawmakers that has, at times, wreaked havoc on Ryan and his leadership's teams best-laid plans on topics ranging from government spending and health care to the farm bill and -- repeatedly -- immigration

“He only has a cheap Eddie Munster haircut.”
Back when Ryan was veep candidate with Romney I made the same observation here and was excoriated for saying it.
Political evolution is interesting to watch.
It takes 50 + Pence
Actually, I think you’re onto something. Ryan thought he was going to be drafted after the Billy Bush affair. I think he has White House fever.
Would make sense to sabotage midterms to pave the way.
I was born & raised in Wisconsin. I am not so sure Ryan will “ENJOY” his retirement.
Isn’t there a ‘waiting period’ before he can work as a lobbyist?
“Political evolution is interesting to watch.!”
That it is.
I hope this is beginning of the end of Ryan's speakership and he vacates not in Jan 19 but real soon. It is like a retiree hanging on way to long after giving his notice he is leaving, be done with already....
Yes, Ryan has certainly evolved.
Some of the “stuff” ryan and his kind won’t cooperate on is due to laziness. He came to conquer.. not to actually work for the people ..they are used to taking forever and Trump is in a hurry. Same for slow gear sessions
I would say ‘devolved’ but do get your point.

Ryan’s taking orders from his leader...
The Pope.
Paul Ryan craves recognition for his social engineering ambitions. That’s all you need to know about Ryan.
Not only is that false since there is no bill only one of the two proposed doesn’t contain most of what Trump wants.
Whatever Ryan is or is not, he is not an idiot.
Nothing takes 50 votes. Period.
Oil meet water OR just another good show for Joe Rag the Citizen
The amnesty train is in the station....ALL ABOARD!!!!!
Ryan won’t run. He likes being the puppet for the puppet masters, as long as they fill his pockets, giving him the ability to insulate his family from all the disastrous policies that he wants for the rest of us.
I’d just like to see the President send out a Tweet that since so many celebrities, politically elite, etc are so interested in helping the illegals, that he is going to initiate a program where they can all take a family in. Pay all associated costs, while they wait for their hearings. Let’s see how many volunteer. When none do, start calling them out in the way, only he knows how.
Wait, what?
You think if dems take House they can REMOVE Trump from office via impeachment? You must also believe the Senate bas the 67 votes needed to convict him because without that he stays in office.
Really think McCain, Flake, Collins, Burr, or McKowsi would vote for ending the Senate’s filibuster rule? Yes, they did for appointments, but there is no way any of them will vote for wholly ending cloture rules. Maybe after the midterms if we can pick up 5-6 seats.
