President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday that he says will keep migrant families together during detention on the U.S.-Mexico border.
The president will not abandon his "zero tolerance" policy of criminally prosecuting all adults who cross U.S. borders illegally.
Earlier, he signaled he would sign a measure to stop his administration's splitting of migrant families.
"I'll be signing something in a little while that's going to do that," he told reporters during a White House event after saying he wanted families to be kept together. "I'll be doing something that's somewhat pre-emptive and ultimately will be matched by legislation I'm sure."
Trump added: "We're keeping families together, but we have to keep our borders strong. We will be overrun with crime and with people that should not be in our country."
The order is expected to allow families to be housed together even while adults in the family are being detained or prosecuted for crossing the U.S. border illegally or for seeking asylum at the border outside of a designated border entry point.

There is no law concerning catch and release. Only children must be released from detention within 20 days and even then ONLY IF A SUITABLE HOME IS FOUND !

So what happens if Ryan RAMS through amnesty? Does that make it a law? Doesn’t it gave to go thru reconciliation in the Senate? Doesn’t it then have to be signed by the President?

As far as spin goes, Trump has about 85 MILLION followers on Social media and I am quite sure he can do pretty well at could getting the spin.

The test of the Executive Order was posted upthread, and it says that those family units will be detained in U.S. government facilities. That certainly is inside the United States. The “detained outside of the United States” appears to have been an unsubstantiated rumor.
The problem with the EO is that detaining minors with adults violates federal law and a consent decree mandated by federal courts, so courts could rule that both the minors and the adults must be released. The EO works brilliantly for PR purposes and optics, but is not a permanent solution to a problem created by Congress and that must be fixed by Congress. Ted Cruz’s bill to permit the housing of illegal-alien minors with adults while the asylum process plays out would be a solution to the problem, and we need for the House to pass the bill (leaving aside other aspects of immigration law, including the Wall, “Dreamers,” E-Verify, etc. for a bigger bill that can be debated later on) and force Senate Democrats either to go along with it or else filibuster a bill that will keep family units together during the asylum process.
We will have to build a few Sheriff Joe Arpaio tent cities to accommodate these illegal alien parents and children. They will be deported together when their asylum claim is ruled against.
BUT No way will Puke Ryan and Congress appropriate these tent city funds. The Dems want it this way so that the Trump admin is forced to release parents and children into the United States with a promise (that will be violated) to appear in front of a judge in 2-3 years.
Democrats are jealous of Angela Merkels’ million man Muslim march into Germany and want the same chaos here. Dems want the US turned into a Brazil.
(e) The Attorney General shall promptly file a request with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to modify the Settlement Agreement in Flores v. Sessions, CV 85-4544 (“Flores settlement”), in a manner that would permit the Secretary, under present resource constraints, to detain alien families together throughout the pendency of criminal proceedings for improper entry or any removal or other immigration proceedings.
It is the Flores consent degree which requires separation of children. By seeking to modify it, then anyone challenging Trump in court will be supporting the decision as it stands. Trump just disarmed the Democrat's entire argument.
20 days and send them home!!! No catch-and-release!!! Better to turn them away immediately, never let them cross the border.
