House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy said that House Speaker Paul Ryan led a meeting with senior Justice Department and FBI officials Friday, and claimed he “made it very clear” the House will use “its full arsenal of constitutional weapons to gain compliance” on outstanding subpoenas.
“I don’t want the drama,” Gowdy said , adding that contempt of Congress is on the table. “I want the documents.”

And contempt of congress means what exactly? Nothing really. There are no consequences for it. Eric Holder was held in contempt of congress. It didn’t get him fired or jailed or reduce his pension 1 cent or have any other discernible impact on his life or behavior. Congress only has two powers to enforce its will. It can impeach someone or it can send the sergeant-at-arms to lock them up somewhere on capitol hill. Trying the later at DoJ or the FBI would like get the sergeant-at-arms locked up in a much more secure dungeon instead and there are not enough votes to impeach anyone except maybe Trump because the Democrats unlike the Republicans never break ranks.

This from the guy who killed spygate in the crib without seeing the documents. Gowdy is a shill for the deep state who will torpedo any chance of getting to the truth.
He is suddenly willing to use his “full arsenal” now because he knows it will take “8 MONTHS” (as he has said in the past) to complete.
That actually may be significant. Ryan being there, whether or not we like him, means he’s now in the mix and will bring more weight to the process.
I have noticed one argument the feds are making is if Congress gets their hands on docs there will be leaks. But these docs aren’t requesting the codes for nukes, so leaks are beside the point. The People have the right to know how their federal government operated in this matter. No national security is being risked. Just a great deal of corruption.

After Gowdy denied Spygate, he can go pound sand where the sun don’t shine. He’s almost as bad as John McCain.
