The Department of Justice inspector general identified a number of instances where FBI employees regularly spoke with members of the media and received a number of free perks from journalists including meals and tickets to various events.
On page XII in the report, the IG says the department identified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of the organization and with no official reason to be in contact with the media, who were nevertheless in frequent contact with reporters.
The IG expressed profound concerns about the volume and extent of unauthorized media contacts by FBI personnel that we have uncovered our review.
The contact between FBI agents and the media extended to receiving improperly receiving benefits from reporters, including tickets to sporting events, golfing outings, drinks and meals, and admittance to nonpublic social events.

I don’t.
... "favors" from the likes of Ali Watkins.
Defendant’s attorneys are going to have a field day with this stuff.
There may be more than victims of Mueller involved here.
Classified information being sold.
That’s prison. Lots
Probably not, it should though.
It sad to have to admit that because it’s a no brainer, it’s totally unethical and surely against FBI rules and regs.
This could be Trumps Air Traffic Control moment. I doubt that the tickets to sporting events given to the FBI agents were to little league games.
You sir, or mam, have renewed my faith in FR posters!
“It is a fetid swamp..”
Yes, and I’ll wager the ‘gifts’ went beyond events, food and drink. Watch for a pedo component to this...
It’s time to weed out the bad players.
If you’ve taken graft, just resign now or deal with the consequences.

Good.
Obama is worried, too. Explains the goofy look on the Halfrican's face when he met Pres-elect Trump.
All the dirt Hillary was expected to sweep under the rug, was now in the hands of the man Obama tried to destroy.
Used to be a state bank examiner. FDIC examiners were prohibited from even accepting lunch from a banker.
Our bureaucracies have become lawless. We are in very deep trouble if we cannot get this horse back in the barn.
YEAH I'M SCREAMING..!!
THESE MF'ERS ARE LYING CHEATING AND STEALING!!!
I PAY EVERY Q...43% TO THIS!?!?!?!?
My goodness....how corrupt is the place?
Nothing to see here.
These agents were part time body guards on the side.
And these gifts were payments for their services.
Jim Acosta seems the type to be included in that.
The entire DOJ is too corrupt and biased to investigate anyone or anything that comes out of the IG report. Americans will have no confidence in anything they do on these matters, moving forward.
We need a Special Counsel. Period.
Melt the phones!!!!!!
.....Obama says he was (cough) "surprised" when Trump won. Obama had plotted, schemed, and colluded to make sure the fix was in.
Only to lose after committing high crimes and misdemeanors of abusing his power. Obama is sweating it out.
He is frantically trying to to make disappear a highly incriminating paper trail....

AFTER HILLARY LOST Obama suddenly Remembered
He Had Made A Deal With Hillary Allowing Removal Of State Dept Records.
By RYAN SAAVEDRA, daiywire.com, December 15, 2017
Newly-revealed documents obtained by conservative watchdog Judicial Watch reveal that the Obama State Department allowed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her top aide Huma Abedin to remove sensitive documents that were not to be made public records (including official Muslim Engagement Documents).
Judicial Watch received the records on Thursday in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that sought all DS-1904 forms completed by or on behalf of Former Secretary Hillary Clinton, Former Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, Former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin, and Former Deputy Chief of Staff Jacob Sullivan.
Clinton and Abedin were permitted to remove both electronic and physical records, claiming they were personal materials and unclassified, non-record materials, including files of Clintons calls and schedules, which were not to be made public.
Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton noted the gravity of the latest revelations, stating they showed further corruption in the Obama administration and with Clinton.
We already know the Obama State Department let Hillary Clinton steal and then delete her government emails, which included classified information, Fitton said in a statement. But these new records show that was only part of the scandal. These new documents show the Obama State Department had a deal with Hillary Clinton to hide her calls logs and schedules, which would be contrary to FOIA and other laws.
"The most significant of these are her personal correspondence and gift binders, which could reflect Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative ties.

Precisely. This whole thing can have a ripple effect, the likes of which, we’ve never seen. Federal court is a different animal. Lots of reasons, but there’s a lot of pressure for folks to take pleas in federal court. If someone pleads, not guilty, and is then found, guilty, the judge can increase the sentence for “wasting the courts time”, more or less. Then there’s a thing called the, Giglio Rule. That rule says that any federal agent that has been found to be lying, less than honest, evasive, etc, in administrative investigations, then they are no longer allowed to work on criminal cases. Meaning, they got caught lying to a supervisor, but their action didn’t result in it rising to a level to terminate. In fact, they can’t even work the Evidence Room. In fact, you’d probably be sick to your stomach how many agents, making a solid 6-figure salary, are “Giglio’d”, but still have a job, benefits, take home car and are just counting down the days to retirement.
And taking gratuities is one of those things that show a clear lack of moral judgement, integrity, honesty and impartiality. If any of those mentioned are involved in cases, then prepare for defense attorneys to start filing appeals.
When I became a cop, one of the very first things we were told was no gifts, gratuities, free/half priced meals, nothing, nada, nil. Did we? Yes. What did the places that hooked us up get? Maybe, just maybe, they got a little faster response time. Maybe. But, usually the places that did it, just did it to say, Thanks. And expected nothing in return. However, it was considered a “fire-able offense” if the department went after you for it.
