Who knew avocados were so dangerous?
On Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” co-host Joy Behar revealed she had to miss work Monday because she’d sliced open her hand cutting an avocado.
“Saturday night, on my way to the event at the retreat, I stabbed myself in the hand with a knife,” she explained. “I was trying to desperately eat something, so I was trying to open an avocado. So I stuck the knife into the pit to get it out … and I stabbed myself!”
At the hospital, where the 75-year-old stayed overnight and was administered an antibacterial drip to ward off infection, Behar was told that this sort of accident happens all the time.

Stupid Joy, there are tools to get the pit out, which also have a slicer too, in them and one can get such a tool at William-Sonoma, or on line from other sources. She's an idiot and a damned drama-queen!
Maybe I just have a sick mind, but when I saw the headline about a lib and a vegetable I was expecting something a little more … deviant.

Sliced through the webbing between my fingers while cutting a bagel once. Blood literally hit the ceiling. Didn’t hurt until the cute doctor gal stuck the needle directly in the wound to numb it up for stitches. She said people cutting rolls and bagels were how they stay in business :-)
I was think of that Debi Mazar show. Hubby was building a pizza oven in the backyard, while Debi was up in a bathtub of avocado pulp, with her gay hairdresser friend helping out.

I can attest to that. Last week I was using a sharp pointed screw driver to dig the caked in gum and dirt out of my softball turf shoe cleats when I sliced my hand........After I finally stopped the bleeding, I put a band aid on it and headed off to the game..........
That reminds me, I never finished the job so I'll finish it right now....
If you don't read any posts from me in the next couple of days, send the coroner not the EMS since I've likely done it again and bled out............
