Meghan McCain slammed President Trump on Tuesday for his "buddy-buddy" meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, whom she denounced as a "dictator."
The cohost of ABC’s “The View” and daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said that, though she was initially on board with the summit, she was disturbed by the symbolism of both nations’ flags flying together in Singapore.
“This is a totalitarian communist dictator in the same vein as Hitler — murder, enslavement, imprisonment, sexual violence, starvation, forced abortions, political, racial, religious persecution,” McCain said.
“We are not the same,” she continued. “[Kim’s North Korea] is completely and utterly the closest thing to Hitler’s Germany that exists in modern time. My problem was how far it went with the buddy-buddy, and there was no talk whatsoever of the human rights violations going on in that country.”

I remember that too and considered the source and accomplishments of McNamara, one of the most disastrous Defense Secretaries in history. One of JFK's real good decisions, he was ... and then LBJ doubled down to keep him there. When he wrote in his memoir that he never believed in the Vietnam effort, WHY THE 'H' DID HE STAY? I'm sure his grave is still guarded to keep him dry from the troops he sent to Vietnam.
Prior to that I also remember when the Democrats were endlessly critical of Reagan in the 1984 campaign for not having had a summit conference with the Soviet Union leader. Not surprising when Brezhnev (d.1982), then Andropov (d.1984) both died of old age / senility and their successor, Chernenko (d.1985), was on his deathbed. Facts have little to do with partisan politics and talking head hacks!
