MEMPHIS, TENN. A Tennessee woman said she was handcuffed at a Victorias Secret in suburban Memphis on Monday because of her skin color.
Jovita Jones said an employee at Victorias Secret in Collierville forgot to remove the censor on a bra she purchased recently at the store. On Monday, she took the bra back to have the censor removed.
"I told her she could keep the bag up there. I was going to go look around the store," Jones said.
As she made her way to the dressing room with new items to purchase, Jones spotted a police officer walking toward her.
"He could have asked, Ma'am, can I search your bag? He didn't do any of that. He just came in and (slapped) handcuffs on me. He made up in his mind I was guilty," Jones said.
An employee had called police on Jones, who has no criminal record. The store tried to make things right by offering Jones a $100 gift card, but she was not satisfied.
"I told her a $100 gift card is not going to take back the discrimination, humiliation, defamation that I faced in that store that day," Jones said.

Did she produce a Receipt for the Bra?
What about the incense censer the priest uses?
I once left a store with the sensor attached to an item and no alarm sounded. I had to go back and have it removed after I tried on the item at home. I did have the receipt, though.
As for having a censor attached to ones bra...whoa! I dont think any of us have ever had that happen_______________________________________
I’ve been censored for NOT having a bra. ;)
Hmm and no one interviewed the cop or store manager to get their side of why they thought it was stolen.
Tried and convicted of waycism by the media without even a chance to explain themselves.
LOL! Or maybe she was one of those people who had a bosom that really needed censoring?
It happens. It happened to me once. Left the store uneventfully. Didn't notice until I got home. I had heard that when you remove the sensors they squirt ink so we took off the sensor in a sink of water.
I think there’s a bit more to this story than they’re letting on.
You forgot the loud obnoxious black women on the Napa wine train who were told to be quiet, they did not, and where they actually got millions for perceived train employee racism.
A hundred dollars in Victorious Secretions is good for about two and a half thongs.
Happened to me at the Homo Depot.
I rolled an upright 6-gallon Porter Cable compressor out the exit door and the sensor set the door alarm off.
So, I returned and paid for it.
Yep. Ann Taylor is another one.. I received a mail order that included 6 items I had not ordered.. I was not charged for them.. I returned them to a local store and it totally confused them.. It was almost as if they did not want them back. Guess they didn’t know how to handle the paperwork or they couldn’t believe someone would return them and not keep them.

Good point I also forget the black woman who went to the bakery six minutes after closing and said it was waycism that they didn’t serve her. The bakery fired the white employees even though they admitted they did nothing wrong.
Not true, I went out of a store with a censor still on a purchase. Walked in an out of several stores and the censor did not go off at all. It happens. Took it back to store it was purchased in and they took it off .
Again I say it happens
In the VS where I shop, I almost always see a Mennonite or an Amish chick. They should design a line of bonnets and aprons, they’d make a killing.
For those keeping score here is a list of fake racism the media reported-
-The black guys at starbucks refused to make a purchase even though there was a sign that said you have to make a purchase to take a seat or use the washroom
-the bbqers in Oakland were using charcoal in an area youre not supposed to.
-the five black golfers were holding up the line of the golf course.
-the waffle house woman was drunk and causing trouble.
-Napa wine train black women getting overly noisy, got millions
-black woman goes to bakery six minutes after closing expects to get served anyway, cries waycism and gets two white employees fired, even though the bakery admits they did nothing wrong.
same story every time- blacks not obeying the rules and crying waycism when someone calls them on it.
It has happened to me before. The sensor not being taken off, not the handcuffs part - though if some of the ladies working at Victorias Secret wanted to handcuff me I would be torn about the level of protestation I would offer. The cop, thats another matter altogether.
They offered her a gift card so I would presume she was able to prove she had bought the item.
Lost me at “Censor”. Geez.
