Top Republicans break with Trump, say FBI acted appropriately
CNN Fake News ^ | 6 June 2018 | Ashley Killough, Manu Raju and Jeremy Herb

House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr, both Republicans, broke with President Donald Trump on Wednesday over allegations spies infiltrated his 2016 campaign, saying they agree with GOP Rep. Trey Gowdy that the FBI did "exactly" what it should have done over its handling of a confidential source.

The declarations by the leading Republicans are the latest indications that Trump lacks any evidence to back up his claims of a major political scandal he calls "spygate" -- since those lawmakers were among a select group briefed on the classified intelligence at issue. The only Republican briefed on the intelligence who has yet to break from Trump is Rep. Devin Nunes, the House Intelligence chairman who has demanded more documents as part of his investigation.

"I think Chairman Gowdy's initial assessment's accurate, I think, but we have some more digging to do. We're waiting for some more document requests," Ryan told reporters at a news conference on Capitol Hill. "It would have been helpful if we got this information earlier."

"I think that Trey Gowdy's description of the process was correct," Burr said

Either the rinos claiming informants were justified are jockeying for a lucrative post career position as suggested by some, or the retiring rinos are part of the attempted coup.
Why else give up the huge paycheck and massive benefits of the leisure workaday of a professional politician?

It’s funny that PRyan sees fit to exit the House as his buddy MittR comes into the Senate.

Wonder what the FBI has on them?

I’m sure this spying was not confined to The Donald. Didn’t Hillary (and Bill) have access to these FBI files?

Why is sleazebag s#it stick Paul Ryan still the speaker of the house?

He needs to be removed in the most humiliating way prior to the Fall elections.

They will have some ‘splainin to do after the IG report, if the reported leaks are true. How can you possibly square Gowdy and Ryan’s remarks about the conduct of the FBI against the IG findings? Short answer, you can’t.

Some of those who hate the Trump Administration are leaving. Others will do what they’re told. Although the most radical fringes of the dying establishment left are fond of maniacal CNN, CNN is irrelevant.

Nothing to do with FBI, it is strictly an outsider, other than the GOPe crew succeeding is making them expose their true self. If it was president Jeb or Kasick or Romney, they would never do this.

Is this issue directly connected to the patently illegal and unethical use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, in which warrants were issued—and then extended—based solely on Democrat-provided opposition research which was knowingly being used as a phony cover for political shenanigans?

If FISA powers can be abused this way against any American—much less a Presidential candidate, President-Elect, or sitting President—then once again we are served an example of arbitrary, Tyrannical power being used by political elements within the federal government.

The Constitution was specifically conceived with the intent of preventing Tyranny—whether by the mob or by the government. I'm also reminded once again of Washington's Farewell Address, and his admonition against the "spirit of party". President Nixon took that too far, and the Democrats have made such a mockery of the notion of "checks and balances" and both legal and ethical accountability, that this situation threatens to create another aspect of the federal government that is totally out of control and, practically speaking, grants virtually limitless legal and political power to whatever "faction" within government happens to occupy the White House.

If Americans don't see to it that the Democrat party is held fully accountable legally, ethically, and electorally—from Obama on down his entire Executive hierarchy in the Justice Department, FBI, CIA, etc.—then We The People will have become as impotent as the toothless British subjects have apparently become.

There are at least two advantages that Americans possess over British subjects, however—the American People have a Constitution, and they also have plenty of teeth, if you know what I mean and I think you do...

..... All of this increasing posturing is making me wonder if these people are privy to some information that they know about the upcoming highly anticipated IG Report. Perhaps it might be either an overwhelming dud or something quite unexpected by us.

... Thus the sudden need for all of this posturing. Perhaps an effort to save their political asses because of the information about to be dumped.
