The off-duty FBI agent whose weapon discharged at a Denver nightclub has been identified as Chase Bishop of the bureau's Washington Field Office, law enforcement sources told CBS News. Bishop was apparently on a personal trip in Denver when his weapon went off Sunday after he did flip while dancing, wounding another person in the leg.
The name of the victim has not yet been released but authorities said he is expected to be OK.
CBS Denver reports that Bishop was taken to the Denver Police Department headquarters and later released to an FBI supervisor. Possible charges are pending lab results to determine whether alcohol was a factor, along with forensic evidence.

Good Lord, can you imagine the world of hurt that an ordinary male American would be in if this had happened to him.
He better hope to not get any Trump supporters on his jury..
You know he will claim he cant get a fair trial because Trump has demonized the FBI.....
The Restaurant Has a Bar. Can I Carry? ColoradoIn Colorado, you can go into a bar with a firearm concealed so long as theres not signage that specifically prohibits it, or youre told by somebody that works there that no guns are allowed. Once youre inside the bar, if you consume any alcohol, you run the risk of committing a crime by possessing a firearm while youre intoxicated. Now, you might think, well if I have one beer, or one shot, or whatever it might be, Im not intoxicated because Im not a .08, or Im not a .05. Youd be mistaken because youre right now thinking about the legal standard for driving, not the legal standard for possessing a firearm. There is no actual per se or statutory legal standard, so its a totally subjective standard, i.e. it is up to the police officer on whether or not you are intoxicated. So, if youre using bad judgment and youve got some alcohol on your breath, I can promise you the police officer is going to say youre intoxicated, and youre going to be facing a criminal charge for doing something you really shouldnt be doing in the first place.
Of course that means a cop would have to arrest and charge the FIBie.
“Denver when his weapon went off Sunday”
Good Grief! Talk about soft talk!
“Just” went off. We all know they sometimes do that. Fidiot!
LEOs ‘professional courtesy’ is the equivalent of the female pussy pass.
Tell that one to a cop if you a regular citizen does that.
- Forrest. Forrest Gump.
We will see if they charge him or not. I won’t be surprised if they don’t.
LE is exempt from state gun laws.
Remember the black dea agent lecturing the class only he was qualified to have a gun in class, no one else was...?

Booze or not, this guy needs to be charged and loose his firearm. I sure would be.
“Just went off. We all know they sometimes do that. Fidiot!”
Article does not mention that he did a back flip as the whole crowd watch him alone on the dance floor.
His IWB carry was not adequate; the gun fell out!
He was right-handed and went to pick up the gun with his left hand and pulled the trigger as he grabbed it.
Are they exempt from negligent discharges that wound bystanders?
Our CCW instructor’s IWB holster test is to invert the holster and do a gravity check. If the weapon comes out, pitch the holster. Heard good reviews on Alien holsters.
Normally they charge the guy who got shot with drunken disorderly, back child support, jaywalking, find drugs in his car and house, tail his family and do the same, just to make you not file a law suit so they have something to make your life even more miserable than being shot in case you do file suit.
