Am Thinker ^ | June 5, 2018 | Eileen F. Toplansky

The gun control conundrum will continue ad infinitum.  But what is happening in New Jersey should frighten anyone -- gun owner or not.  NJS102 will most likely be affirmed by the Democrat senate majority in the NJ legislature.  The NJ Assembly has already passed the following:

One of the reasons that it’s REALLY HARD for me to forgive the NeverTrumpers is because they nearly enabled the victory of a woman who planned to do this and much more, if she made it into the White House. And much of that would have been through EXECUTIVE ORDERS, using EXISTING POWERS in a twisted way, but backed up by HER JUDGES. And if the Republicans didn’t like her rule-by-decree, all they would need to do is pass laws that SPECIFICALLY negate those powers, just to have her veto them and sustain the veto.

That process:
1. Rule by decree
2. Leftist judges then say they’re not involved - it’s between the other two branches.
3. Therefore, if Congress doesn’t like the decree, they’re welcome to pass a law to nullify it.
4. Of course either the president has to sign it (obviously won’t happen) or dozens of Democrats have to join Republicans to get to 2/3’s to override the veto - also not going to happen.
5. Decree is sustained.

Steps 1 & 2, above, already happened with Obama in one case. I can’t remember the issue, maybe something to do with immigration. Republicans didn’t bother trying to pass legislation, since an override was hopeless.

I get it - Trump is an oaf, a goofball, not classy, not presidential at all.

...but did that make him worse than the alternative, really?

"...oaf, goofball, not classy, not Presidential ..."

What is “not classy and not Presidential” is dirtbag President 0bama missing for 13 hours while our guys were fighting for their lives in Benghazi.

Not if you live in the Northern New England Free Zone and have to travel south of Maryland.

I signed the papers yesterday to build my new home in PA. My home in NJ is on the market as of today.

"New Jersey is starting to smell like California."

New Jersey is usually well ahead of the curve with its gun control laws.

Only reason this wasn't passed into law years ago is that Chris Christie thought that he could become President, and vetoed the bills.

The state (and it's voters) are hopeless. The only salvation possible is if Trump replaces a few more SC justices and the state gov't goes into bankruptcy and receivership. (Murphy is going an excellent job in that respect!)

(I’m in PA)

Hard to imagine most of this will stand up to Constitutional scrutiny. The first one using “others” can go to a judge? What others, what is there legal standing in regards to you, etc. To vague.

I lived in NJ and I did look in PA before making my move. I didn’t find PA all that much less expensive than NJ. Once outside of North Eastern NJ (BERGEN COUNTY) area it is about the same.

I moved to NC and bought a new 2200 sq ft Townhome in Union City for $175,000 (well over $300,00 in Bergen City) and taxes were just a tiny tad over $1000 annually. Unlike the crumbling N East, NC and surrounding States have a superb infrastructure and a sort of new feel to everything.

I find living in the South many, many times better than in the N East.

Stop apologizing for supporting Trump. I love the guy, and am convinced he’s consistently the smartest person in any given room.

I used to tell people I liked Trump’s policies, but wouldn’t want to have a beer with him. Now, given the chance, I’d jump at the chance.

I’m not apologizing, I’m RELATING to the NeverTrumpers who otherwise claim to be conservative.

In other words what counts more, having a classy guy with a stable family (i.e., Obama) literally destroying this country, quite possibly permanently - or having a guy who isn’t quite as ‘culture’, quite possibly SAVING this country for our kids and grand kids?

This wasn’t a tough call for me to make, not at all. It’s just plain WEIRD that people who have been on our side FOR DECADES still can’t figure this out.

NJ v. PA- it’s all relative. Yes, the South is cheaper but I have to stay in the NE for now. PA is much better than NJ when comparing all taxes and cost of living.

” A1217, which would create restraining orders in the state allowing family members and others to ask a judge to have a person’s guns seized and ban them from buying weapons for up to a year.”.......

The “key words” in this outrageous proposal is family members “AND OTHERS”. Example: So your neighbor doesn’t like guns (liberal bastard that he/she is) decides you shouldn’t have a gun and makes a phony presentation to the judge. Judge rules in their favor. NOT GOOD!
