President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, who has been indicted by U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller, attempted to tamper with potential witnesses, Mueller said in a court filing on Monday.
Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, asked the judge overseeing the case in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to revoke or revise an order releasing Manafort ahead of his trial.
Manafort was released to home confinement after his arraignment in October.
Mueller has indicted Manafort in federal courts in Virginia and Washington, D.C., with an array of allegations from money-laundering and failing to register as a foreign agent, to bank and tax fraud. Manafort has pleaded not guilty.
FBI Special Agent Brock Domin, in a declaration filed with Mueller's motion, said Manafort had attempted to call, text and send encrypted messages in February to two people from "The Hapsburg Group," a firm he worked with to promote the interests of Ukraine.

What Manafort did was not illegal and what do you think campaign managers make off presidential campaigns here? Millions is the answer. In 20 years nobody felt compelled to go after Manafort til now. He’s being vilified to try to get to Trump.
In my opinion Sessions was a plant, dare I say it, a “spy” in the Trump campaign and “the insurance policy” if the unthinkable happened and Trump was actually elected.
Whoever thought of this plot is a genius, so we know it wasn’t Sessions and was probably someone whose name we do not know. The plan was if Trump won he would be very inclined to reward loyalty and would give Sessions his choice of jobs.
As soon as the skunk was confirmed he stabbed Trump in the back and betrayed all of us, but especially the rule of law and his country.
Sessions should be shunned from now until the end of his days and this is coming from me, a former cheerleader for Sessions.
I came to this unmistakable conclusion more than a year ago.

I wanted so much to believe in Sessions and refused to see what was right in front of me. I am glad there are people like you who see the issue and aren’t blinded by what they want, but see clearly what is, regardless of how painful.

Thank you. :) I do tend to be a little ahead of the curve. I realized that the Republican Party had become Conservative’s enemies way back in 2002.
You are welcome. :-) For the past few years I have a had an awakening and realize that there isn’t much difference between the parties. Elected officials work for themselves and if something happens to benefit us that is purely accidental.
The point is not so much the money, which is slimy enough, considering who and what the client was, but rather that he helped Putin get his 'puppet' elected in the Ukraine. During the course of that campaign the Putin stooge's opponent was poisoned in an assassination attempt. In case you don't know, Putin is a bad guy, and no friend of the US. He's in the process of basically bringing back the Soviet Union.
You may not approve of Manaforts business dealings and maybe I don’t either but it does not mean he broke the law. Dick Morris has worked for foreign campaigns also as have others. It’s not uncommon. If Manafort had not worked for Trump he would not be under any type of scrutiny. He never attempted to hide his work in the Ukraine. If he had been breaking the law he would have been prosecuted long ago.
Russia is our enemy. They are attempting to restore their evil empire and then-some with control of the oil/gas-rich Middle East.

Russia is an annoyance like a fly. Don’t make them more than they are. They are always one had wheat harvest away from bankruptcy.
The issue here is did Manafort break the law. I propose he did not or he would have been prosecuted many years ago.

I’ve been meaning to make up a list of Sessions bashers so that if it turns out I’m wrong and Jeff Sessions truly is a creature of the swamp, or somehow compromised by the deep state, or lazy, or a coward, or a traitor, or mentally ill, or evil, or comatose, or takes an excessive amount of naps, or whatever -
- I’ll know who to own up to.

I always retained some faith in the GOP, even after the disastrous Bush Jr.
That ended in 2015 when I saw the Uniparty truly show itself with the attacks on Trump.
I no longer will vote GOP with the exception of explicitly pro-Trump candidates
