Ex-Navy sailor pardoned by Trump says he's suing Comey and Obama

A former Navy sailor who is one of five people to receive a pardon from President Donald Trump is planning to file a lawsuit against Obama administration officials, alleging that he was subject to unequal protection of the law.

Specifically, Kristian Saucier, who served a year in federal prison for taking photos of classified sections of the submarine on which he worked, argues that the same officials who meted out punishment to him for his actions chose to be lenient with Hillary Clinton in her use of a private email server and handling of classified information.

His lawyer, Ronald Daigle, told Fox News on Monday that the lawsuit, which he expects to file soon in Manhattan, will name the U.S. Department of Justice, former FBI Director James Comey and former President Barack Obama as defendants, among others.

“They interpreted the law in my case to say it was criminal,” Saucier told Fox News, referring to prosecuting authorities in his case, “but they didn’t prosecute Hillary Clinton. Hillary is still walking free. Two guys on my ship did the same thing and weren’t treated as criminals. We want them to correct the wrong.”

I hope he wins.

I also hope he's not holding his breath.

Will Obama's defense be that he was the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the Nation and he had unrestricted authority to determine who/what is, and is not, prosecuted?

He’ll probably just ‘happen,’ to draw Kimba Wood as the judge to hear the case. Or if not Kimba then an Obama appointee. No suspense as to how such political hacks decide cases.

Let’s give all the generals and admirals who were “let go” by Obama a shot at lawsuits as well.

Do it NY style, brother!

Sue them for their house(s), their car(s), their salary, everything!!!

Residuals from book sales and movies, too!

Lastly, in writing, in ink not typed, a signed apology from each of them.

My latest crusade is to convince people hereabouts that lawsuits are not magic bullets. That I remember, this guy is actually guilty.
Guilty or not, prosecutorial discretion is immune from civil
Liability. He does not have a case and we don’t need Jim a woods to toss him out on his ear; any luck of the draw Judge will do it.

” He does not have a case”

I agree totally.

UNLESS he has a civil rights case where he can associate the prosecutorial discretion with some sort of protected class, or ANY class.

Yes, this kid is guilty, and he has no chance of winning this case. One thing that sticks out is that he was tried in federal court vice being prosecuted by the Navy under the UCMJ. He destroyed evidence, and it appears that the NCIS must have suspected him of espionage to turn the case over to the FBI vice his Command. FBI probably couldn’t find enough evidence of espionage, so they got him to plead out to “unlawful retention of national defense information and obstruction of justice”.

Frivolous case.

If he’s lucky, it will be thrown out. If he isn’t, he can pay some sanctions.

I was tickled when POTUS pardoned this kid. I said a the time I was happy because he was unfairly sentenced for his dumb a$$ act taking of pics in a NUCSUB, but he was still guilty of the act. I also said at the time that he should just keep his mouth shut and go on with his life. Same still applies.

Hard to beat city hall but with enough support he can at least make a strong statement and get some people asking the same questions. Why WAS he treated differently? He and his lawyers clearly convinced President Trump he was.

Rhetorical question. We are all quite familiar with the double standard in this country.

It used to be minorities were treated differently than whites. Now it’s leftists given favorable treatment while the book is thrown at those on the right. The left wasn’t content to make things simply equal. No. Now whitey has to pay! Attica, Attica, Affirmative Action, Affirmative Action.

I’m pretty sure this is the paradigm shift the left was trying to make. In many ways they succeeded.
